  • Each One, Teach One

I think that everyone on this board has to thank all the Supreme Players we know and love. Off the top of my head, that means Bono and Apple Pie. In any case, I felt I should do my part in-game, and I help every RDM I see.

First thing first- LOVE ENFEEBLE!! I was about to fight Bubly Bernie and a lvl 6 RDM checked me, but i was /anon. He saw me straight up own it (Regen, Blaze Spikes, Enthunder, Dia, slash, slash, slash!!!!) and ask me if it was hard or not.

ANYWAY, I ended up healing him the fight, cause all he had of usage was Dia and Poison. He was hume, so his sword wasnt that ass. Oh, and just a quick pointer, if you wanna help someone like this, put up a "Spikes Spell" and get a lot of enmity with a big Cure spell. With Blaze Spikes and my curing, Bernie would attack me for 0 after I healed this guy, then take 7 damage for being foolish.

Ah, just a little thing I found. In any case, whenever I read about a new way to piss of gamers looking for a RDM, I'm eager to try it. This includes declining pts cause you can take worms in the same area, or training certain things in the area.

Yeah, I know, i'm being a jerk, but ppl have to learn not to take us for granted. We are NOT "White-Mage-Lite", so dont ask us to Main heal w/o backup. ALSO, our nukes arent the sharpest knives in the drawer, so its left to Buffs and DeBuffs.

Plz, teach every RDM you see, so that one day the Army will march over Vana'diel and solo its ass off.

(Cant wait til RDM/NIN... I'll Dual Enthunder those poor crabs)

training mobs onto other players is very uncool and makes the red mage community as a whole look like a bunch of immature little kids who like nothing more than to give others a bad time. we'd all appreciate it if you'd not do that anymore.

Bah, you read incorrectly. What I do is make trains of Orcs or Goblins, Or Quads, then I take them out. Other players come into the equation when they are in the area and think i need help.

Or course, a quick Diaga pulls the mobs back to me, but I'd never train monsters onto someone else. Shit, I'd be pissed if someone did that to me while I was trying to level, and there are places I go where i get 1 fight every five mins.

Take a sec and imagine, me, lvl 21, being trained in Valkurm or something... That would suck, so i wouldnt do that to someone.

I'm not a compulsive moron or anything, there are still monsters that register as tough in areas i pted in not too long ago.

In any case, i'll say something constructive: Make friends with Bards, ne? RDM and BRD in the pt can survive very well without WHM. In fact, I think that if both sub WHM, then it makes it ridiculously fast chains.

Regen and the Regen song with spamming Cures (or Cure II when Cure's stop being effective). Just my 2 gil, cause i'm getting Cure III soon, and i'm expecting to not being able to use Cure for much longer....

the way you worded it made it sound like you trained things on other parties.

that really makes you sound like a regular little ne'er do well. as for your constructive comment, i find most bards to be snooty little fucks. the few that weren't are very good friends of mine. oh, and you will be using cure 1 for quite a long time. chaining cures then using cure 2 is a good way to cure a tank and not get massive hate. before cure 1 stopped being as effective i used cure 1 until the tank used provoke then i'd throw out a cure 2.

i didn't address your last comment in your first post so i guess i can still throw in my 2 pennies on that one. i stopped trying to teach newbie red mages. i tell them things if they ask me, but otherwise i'd rather let them learn on their own. hell, we all had to learn on our own, why should we baby these new players? if they have the ambition to play at the best of their abilities they'll come into this forum and look things up and learn on their own.

Ok, good point, very good point. I suppose that we should keep in mind the type of community Dreams in Vana'diel is. Before I started playing, I came to this board as often as I could. Now that I own the game, I come damn near 3 times a day (at least).

I'm not sure about everyone else's situation, but when I started the game, I knew what to expect... Um, kinda.. There is a lot of stuff you just have to learn on your own.

:p Yeah, but there are ppl that feel a RDM is simply a Warrior that can do magic (I think this is true up till level 10.. maybe 15. Even then, its only about 80% true) So they go that path at the beginning. Its unfortunate that this is the mentallity, so why not "catch em while they young" before they make RDM look bad in already bad lvl places?

Personally, I dont mind competition, cause I know that no one my level range in my situation has as much fun as me (unless they "bought" their gil. In that case, they need to just roll over and get a bubonic disease and die horribly  )

And the only cure for n00bness is play time, so why not let them decide if they'll be willing to put in all the work needed to be a great RDM, ne?
