  • Now I'm confused...

Ok, in the dunes, I was an enfeebler and healer. Now that I've moved on to better places, i find myself Nuking and enfeebling. Um, is there EVER gonna be an instance in where I can have all 3 capped at least 1 time?

I mean, lets not get on my Dark skill (2 at level 20  ) or my Divine Skill (i dont think it hit 1 yet, XD )

But when soloing in Korrolokka, it was nice to be /BLM and to have Melon Pies. 39 damage on T worms was bearable, cause I was able to end fights with MP left to do a silence if things got bad and i needed to melee.

But i suppose it doesnt matter, since Cure caps at 30 and Cure 2 at 90, both of which have been reached. But is there an answer to my original question?

    - Enfeebling should always be capped (and by 'should,' I mean you shouldn't even need to 'try' to cap it).
    - Elemental depends on your play style, but generally just MB-ing every other renkei should eventually find it capped.
    - Healing is hard to cap, but it doesn't matter anyway. My healing finally capped for about 2 months after getting lvl 75, so ... no need to worry about it too much.
    - You need /blm or /drk to cap dark magic using Aspir and/or Drain, and /whm or /pld to cap divine using banish or flash. Capping dark magic can be pretty useful, capping divine is, in my opinion, worthless.

Much appreciated knowledge from the one-and-only Deoderant!

      lol, this is just as ground-breaking as when Apple-Pie replied to my in-game /tell ^.^;;;;;

I guess you get better when you're around exp ppl.

Oh, and I noticed that my enfeeb in one way or another always rises. Meh, go figure...

Enfeeb rises by as much as .5 a cast even at 1 point from cap at 60... It's INCREDIBLY easy to do so. Enhancing, on the other hand, will be a bitch till around 51 or so, when exp per level begins increasing.

          oMFG wat u takin about. Dees skeelz's so Ub3r!! Sp3cily w/ Baneesh tr33! OMfG

          j/k

My divine skill is still only 3 levels...and I leveled my whm too -_-.

I managed to cap enf, Enh, elm, drk skills at one time (level 65 or 66 i believe) which are pretty much the only 4 skills you really need to worry about anyway.

someone list the divine spells? I'll try...

            Banish...
            Banish II...
            Banishaga???
            Flash (maybe)

thats all i know, and worthless to a RDM. unless you want a lame attempt at getting hate... or something. =P

The real breakthrough in being able to keep those primary skills capped occurs after level 60. You are looking at 30k+ to level and the formulas shift such that its not too hard to do it.

Capping them also is fairly easy in the 50s but for a different reason. You will probably spend a bunch of time then going on various coffer key parties which gives you a chance to up your skills without gaining that much xp.

It can also help some when you level your BLM and WHM subs to get a bit of boost in some of those skills that have slacked.

yeahm lvling subs... I'll get right on that... =P

I think that there is a chart that shows where you can skill up and such. Also, if you are able, simply soloing against toughs, or even the "high" evens will raise you by a certain amount.

Enhancing will skillup much faster after you have Refresh and use it all the time. Dark will skillup much faster after you have Aspir (from BLM sub) and use it all the time. (If you don't sub BLM, it doesn't matter because your only dark spells are Bio/Bio2 which are unresistable.) Healing doesn't matter much because you can cap cures easily with non-capped healing skill. Divine doesn't matter much because RDM gets no divine spells and the ones you get from SJ usually aren't worth casting.

So the only ones you should really worry about at your level are enfeebling (if you have trouble keeping this capped you aren't using your enfeebling spells enough - paralyze, slow, dia, poison, silence for those annoying goblin leechers and gamblers) and elemental (may not cap until later levels but it should at least be reasonably high).

At lower levels you level pretty quickly so it is hard to hit your caps since they are such a moving target. Post-50 there's a lot more time at each level and your skill will catch up (if it hasn't before then). At 52 I had enfeebling, enhancing, elemental and dark capped. Now I'm 1400 into 53 and I already have enfeebling capped and I think elemental as well.
