  • Level 75 Farming Gear for RDM

I'm kinda looking around for ways to maximize my farming ability, and I guess damage in general, I am not rich, so don't say enhancing sword and a scorpion harness because those won't happen. I don't have friends to go sit around with all day for joyuse either so that isn't really an option.

Does this equipment seem ok, or do you have any other suggestions?

    Swords:

Spartha of trials (Well i like it but I'll have to give it up some day)
Mighty Tulwar (I could afford it, it's 500k on my server)

    Dagger:

Misericode (sp?) (seems nice, 210k on my server)
[currently using Garuda, if I buy a sword I can't buy the dagger]

    Body:
    Assult Jerkin

    Shield:
I have Balance/Genbu's/Astral I was thinking of using Balance, but would the evasion and -10 dmg out weight the +acc? maybe just macro the balance for WS like vorpal.

    Head:
Crimson Mask (regen is nice), Ogre Mask (+10 attack), I know if I'm farming Demon M..... for stuff >.> I would need to ditch all my crimson gear, the intimidations are really bad.

    Gloves:
    AF gloves seem fine

    Neck:
    Spiked or Coral?

    Rings:
Not sure here, I have +2 dex rings from my drk, should I go for criticals or base dmg? +4 str rings are about 50k each so I could get those if I needed to.

    Earring:
2x Coral +5 attack -5 evasion -1% magic dmg taken

    Back:
    Anemit Mantle

    Legs:
AF? Not really sure here, might want to pick up some tiger pants or whatever they are called

    Feet:
Crimson Greaves / Ogre Lendlesen (sp?) I think I'll use the Ogres

    Ranged:
    Lightning Bow +2 dex ^^

My pet has more HP right now than a level 75 galka monk >.> If only it could provoke...

I'm just speaking from speculation (since I've not farmed at 75), but generally for farming, isn't +attack our most important stat?
    There will be cake.

      hmm. what's your sub? /nin? /thf?

lvl 75 is a whole different ball game. i can't even comment to be honest - i mean, if you go rdm/nin at 75, jesus, you're a force. an unstoppable rebel force. get the sarashi (latent ninja belt, enhanced dual wield), get the suppami(sp? earring - enhances dual wield and sword +5), get the /nin latent affect earring, and grab either +agi stuff or +str stuff, depending on what you're going for. all your other gear sounds good. avoid the - evasion stuff. as a lvl 75 rdm/nin, you'll wwant that.

the sarashi is debatable, it adds a 5% haste to /nin i believe. but life belt might be better (not sure what high lvl belts are...). definitely get the suppami earring for rdm/nin.

and if you really want to dominate... get that enhancing sword and joyeuse. i mean, that's it, game over. you win.

now, go solo anything. anything. christ, do an avatar run on your own. maybe duo with a whm or pld, if you're unsure, it won't hurt. i don't think you realize how powerful you are as lvl 75 rdm/nin.

makes me sick just thinking about it...

I was going to use /thf for farming and /drk for other. My nin is level 9 so I would need to level that to 37, but ninja equipment is abysmally expensive lately. I don't think 5xAA BC is repeatable though and I already have an abyssal earring, so I don't think I can get the enhanced dual weild earring.

ok, here's what i would do if i were you...

while thf is great and all, nothing beats rdm/nin. in fact, i like it so much, i've been farming with a /nin sub.

now, its your choice really. if you're really focused farming, /thf will do fine - the mobs you fight should be so many lvls lower then you that nothing will hurt you.

great but... i must tell you. /nin is fun. i really think you should give it a try. at least get to nin to 12, then go rdm/nin and see if you like it.

once i saw apple pie's rdm/nin video, where he solo'd like an EM orc with really no sweat (he burnt maybe 150-200 mp, and took like 1 damage, at the very end), i was sold.

and the general concensus is that high lvl rdm/nin is the most powerful job, bar none. just do it. you know you want to.

i saw an rdm wearing all that gear that bonovoxpsu described... except he was wearing a dalmatica, life belt, and duelist gloves...

            i was in awe x.x

and i only examined him just to check out the dalmatica XD

edit: as a testament to the power of the rdm/nin...

i often see an rdm/nin soloing bombs in the rancor den (for bomb cores of course).

i saw an rdm/nin and a pld/nin duo serket >< i and many people in my ls and those camping serket thought they were holding. imagine everyone's surprise when they killed it.

            i guess now i have to level nin to 37 ; ;

more edits bleh: since this post is about rdm farming, i might as well mention it. when the thf in our ls was camping sozu rogberry, she would always lose claim to a jp rdm/drk. but apparently, stun and fast cast are extremely fast. because one day, a jp pld friend of hers was helping her claim rogberry with provoke and fast cast/stun was faster than provoke. perhaps you should keep that in mind when you go camping nms as a 75 rdm. and i don't recommend camping sozu rogberry as anything but a thf... thief's knife is a .01% drop with th2 or something ridiculous.

I don't think you realize how overrated rdm/nin is.

Everyone goes on and on about how rdm/nin is God of solo and untouchable, unfortunately this is a gross exaggeration. It's a good combo, and it's powerful in some situations, but you're in for a disappointment if you get your hopes too high.

Don't get me wrong though, rdm/nin is powerful, just rather situational and not as godly as people like to make it sound.

rdm/drk stun is in no way quicker than any 'instant' skill (provoke, shadowbind, etc). It is quicker than any other spell pull, except perhaps flash maybe, but I'm not planning on ever lvling PLD for it.
