  • I'm Confused...Int or Mnd?

Hello All. Recently started playing RDM and I was asking people what stat I should Get Gear to Raise, and everyone was telling me that as a RDM, INT was my top priority and MP second. This came as a total shock to me and kinda confused me for the following reason:

My Bread and Butter Job is BLM. I use Burn (lowers INT) and Shock (lowers MND) every fight (Burn to lower elemental resistance and Shock to lower enfeeble resistance) so it really confused me when everyone tells me that a job who's main point is to infeeble needs to have +INT gear as opposed to +MND gear. If infeebles are directly related to MND, why would I want to raise my INT as opposed to my MND?

Sorry if i said this in a confusing way, it's 3:15 am right now

Thanks for your help in advance.

Buy gear for both, and swap depending on what enfeeble you're using.
MND for Dia, Slow and Paralyze.
INT for Bio, Gravity, Blind and so on.

Not all enfeebling spells are related to MND. Only the white magics, such as Dia, Paralyze, and Slow are. The black magic such as blind, poison, and gravity, are based on INT. Burn and Shock are also based on INT, and elemental skill, not enfeebling skill.
      Ho-hum.

yea you'll need both. Normally I wear MND gear and eat INT food  and switch elemental staffs according to the spells i use. More than enough to land my spells unresisted most of the time even without max skill.

                      ;p

as stated above depends on your spells
mp+ gear is mostly for convert
@ lvl 75 i sold my int rings though, i dont really have troublewit INT based debuff, errants is good and i like to stick para and slow 1 shot. i also use goblin mushpot for 10mnd for merit points,pt's. only buff i have problem with is paralyze on golems in sky, but thats once in awhile.
to me paralyze+slow are priority debuffs, when i play my pld, seeing "xxx is paralyzed 3-5times in a row is nice"
i tend to gravity before a blm MB's as well now on golems. honestly with patch update a fully geared whm banish 3 will out mb my thunder 3's by 100dmg with or without full nuke gear. by than mob is dead,

I agree that it's best to have sets of both MND and INT gear. However, for those who have space constraints due to multilple jobs or just can't afford to have sets of both, I generally recommend MND over INT. The reason for that is that I find that the MND based spells tend to be far more important than the INT based spells. Paralyze & Slow are used against EVERYTHING and really help out in the entire process of killing the monster. Dia is used more often than Bio, although Bio has its uses as well. Silence is invaluable against casters. Blind is probably the most useful INT based spell, but it's usually fairly easy to land even without INT+ equipment. Elemental staves are an enourmous help in landing spells against "tougher" enemies, much more so than a +MND&INT wand. Even as an elvaan with already very high base MND, I still opt for MND over INT in most situations.

Totally agree. I don't even have an INT set because I have very little INT base enfeebles with Whm sub Will need one for Maat tho I guess.
