thoughts on the aramis's rapier

so i was kind of dissatisfied with my gold sword as of late. they high delay just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

besides, looks wise, i think it sucks. the wise wizard's anelace just looks pretty badass.

so i was checking prices for the gold sword to sell it when i stumble across the Aramis's Rapier.

interesting. while the parry is kind of "meh" to me, i liked the accuracy buff - very minimal though and still smaller then the fleuret...

it was the delay that got me. 202. fastest sword in the game, i think. so i thought screw it, i bought it. 46k.

as a farmer of ele's, this thing hits FAST. when hasted, it feels like a dagger. i found myself actually taking down ele's faster then before (anecdotal evidence, however ). building up TP at a quick rate. very nice.

its interesting enough to take a look at. while i used the anelace and gold sword before the RG fleuret, delay is the bane of my existance and have a 202 delay is pretty awesome. rdm/nins might be interested in this one...

what do you guys think? anyone else tried it? is the acc bonus on thge fleuret just too much to give up? thoughts please!

I bought it yesterday morning. I was invited to a skill up party, and the AH was out of RG Fleurets. So I picked up the Aramis.

Wow, I agree, with Haste on, it hits FAST.

When I went out farming today, I tried it out. DPS is greater than WW Anelace judging from how fast I can kill.

My first thought was, how come something this great is so cheap (20K)?

I may just end up selling my WW Anelace. This sword is far superior imho.

Maybe I should check this one out. It's really a pain my rdm's behind when I have to kill 2 dark elements in under 5 minutes w/ only 650 + convert.

seriously, does it get much better then killing ele's as an rdm? i think not. i get so much joy out of it.

the delay on this sword is so freakin low! if you're an ele killer, it really is the sword to use. i don't like using daggers because i'm not a fan of the WS's - i mean, when going all out, nothing beats Spirits Within for ele's.

on top of that, with something along the lines of a 10-25% speed increase when using daggers, you lose something along the lines of 40-60% of your damage.

but this sword really feels like a dagger it hits so fast. i think i'm a fan of it - and i think having this and a fleuret going dual wield would be pretty awesome. hopefully apple pie takes notice and chimes in on what he thinks...

This is about 65k-70k on Gilgamesh... which is about the same price as the RG Fleuret. I think it is worth it if you can buy it a lot cheaper than this. In an apples-to-apples comparision, I think RG Fleuret is better for the extra accuracy.

On a serious note, why does everyone seem to stress out about their sword so much? Very rarely will it come into play other than gilfarming. I don't even find myself gilfarming that often... there are better ways to make gil :spin:

I'm seriously considering about selling my sword in favor for another of the elemental staves. I just can't seem to do it though... ; ; I have no idea what it is with swords, but no other mage can use one. It's just like how people buy swords for decoration instead of utility. :sweat:

i've had royal guard's fleuret and wise wizard's anelace on me for quite a long time. i must say that i like the fleuret simply because it hits faster than the anelace

i got aramis' rapier because of you guys but i have yet to try it out. but 20k is pretty much chump change so i had no second thoughts. i can't wait to try it out though ^^. if all goes well, i'm going to sell the anelace. it's not a big deal for me since i could always cp another and cp gain flows like water for me ^^.
