Adjusting from BLM

Dont tell the ppl on the BLM board, but I'm only lvling BLM to be the first sub for my eventual RDM.

In any case, what is the main difference between being a BLM and a RDM, battle-wise? Right now, at lvl 7, in every PT, i've been able to Blind, then Poison, then Nuke Stone/Water. Will i be this linear as a RDM? Will I actually, ya know, have to strike something???

Feedback would be nice =P

Rdm is a support job (think like whm or brd), black mage is a dmg dealing job. That's the short and easy comparison for you.

heh, I'm doing the same thing :D

the main difference I see is that you won't be going into your nuke routine that often. your mp pool is much less than a blm so you'll want to conserve that. Your first priority is to debuf (and buffs). After your debuffs, you're a backup healer or backup nuker (and after 41 you're a Refresh whore).

when i switched to lvl RDM while waiting for a friend, i imidiately saw the difference - - at the same lvl, my INT was nowhere near comparable (at least to me). Being a BLM lvl 7 and a RDM lvl 7 are totally differene experiences. My RDM has a sword! =P although i swear i do more damage with my Wand... ah well, i'll get used to it be possibly leveling up equally. Thnx for the replies.
