Whoever is on this server and knows anyone in his ls, let them know they need to kick someone out, i sure wouldn't wanna to be associated with a LS that would have such a member in it with such an attitude

and oh yeah i'm a drk, it's call learning and it's something i'm very good with and can adapt, so i don't care what job u have, if you're smart, any job in ffxi isn't hard, it's a game, not exactly rocket science, so to say a blm or a whm cannot play a rdm b/c it has more complexities is just condescending,

i really urge someone in Leviathan to rat this guy out and let his ls know how lame he's making their look on this msg forum

Though it can get tough, You *CAN* heal fine on your own, if you're too poor to have decent equipment like Astral Rings then yeah you may not be able to, that's just cause you suck though, not cause it isnt possible. Liek I said at your level the difference between you and a whm is 30 mp, so wtf? You think their 30 extra mp gives them the ability to heal with no help whatsoever?

so a person whose highest lvl is 25 is expected to have astrals? Also, you're assuming alot about Zaleshea and his (or her) equipment.

Ok taking a part of midnilux's post... "You think their 30 extra mp gives them the ability to heal with no help whatsoever?" I don't think Zaleshea meant WHMs never need backup cures.

Anyway.. I'll agree after a certain lvl (41-ish) RDMs can act as a sub for a WHM but as Laehn mentioned...

Rdms are missing out on many key healing/nuking spells including the entire -ga and -ra series of spells. Theyre also missing regen 2 and 3, raise 2 and 3, reraise, cure V, high lvl status cures (which are used) ancient magic. You also learn spells significantly later than whm and blm and your healing and elemental skills both cap lower than whm and blm. Rdms can do both jobs to a lesser degree, true, but not better. Whms are healers, born and raised. Blms are nukers, born and raised. No one is better than whm at healing. No one is better than blm and nuking.

Onto the original topic of this thread.... who cares? WHMs heal, party buff, enfeeble to an extent, and removes status effects, that's what WHMs are meant to do. BLMs are meant to nuke, MB, and enfeeble some. RDMs are for enfeebling, lower downtime (with refresh), and act as support for WHM and BLM.

And while we're on this pointless crap on who's ego is the biggest....

NIN > PLD
RNG > DRK, MNK, WAR

kidding though... a RDM friend of mine stole hate from a NIN in quicksands. please don't mistake that as a "RDM OMFG 1337 DMG"

btw... this rdm knows he's isn't a red warrior... and he was using a wand at the time.

First...my apologies to everyone for bumping this back up...I was bored and felt like saying something that's probably already been said before...not to mention better and more stylish at that.




All I'll say is....after playing White Mage for 50+ levels....I could generally tell you...when it comes to curing and nothing else....well, like someone said up there ^..."A monkey could do it."

When it comes to playing the part of a competent White Mage, who doesn't compete with other casters, but instead works with them to compliment their abilities and increase PT efficiency...I'd say it takes alot of skill. If you don't think it does, then chances are, you've probably never played with a great White Mage.
(All the best ones are in statics already...so don't expect to come across one in a pickup PT. :p )

This applies to every Caster Job though...which obviously is common knowledge to any competent player.

(yep! I wasted your time telling you something I'm sure at least 50-70% of you already knew. :p )

I'm closing this thread for the 2nd time. I reopend it after the initial poster, Neosoul, bitched and moaned about getting it closed by creating another thread. Surprisingly she never posted after I reopend. I don't think she realized that I was actually doing her a favor.
