Wize Wiz. Anelace or Gold Sword?

Hi, i'm currently a level 60 rdm using the wize wiz anelace. I see some high level rdms on my server using gold sword and others using the anelace. Could any of you level 62+ rdms tell me which is better, the 34 dmg +14 atk from the anelace or the 38 dmg from the goldsword?

Well I'm at lvl 62 so I can share my input Pt wise when I feel like lvling up my weapon skill, I use fleuret because of its accuracy bonus (we do crap damage and we miss a lot ). Farming wise I use the highest damage weapon which is goldsword.

Although...I do really like anelece. Compared to fleuret, anelece LOOKS way better

Wise Wizards Analace if you arnt using Royal Guards Fleuret. Personally im a dagger user over swords. Hornetneedle.

I agree with this. I noticed the same trend (Gold Swords being used at higher levels), but looking at the statistics... the attack bonus is worth more than the 4 or so points of higher damage in my opinion.

Buy whichever is cheapest. I almost sold my Anelace once because it shot up 20k higher than the Gold Sword, but... fell shortly after. The difference, I assume, isn't enough to really matter.

I'll probably have the Anelace until the day I get an Enhancing Sword (someday.......).

The prices on my server must reflect the popularity of the swords.

Royal Guards Fleuret is up to 60k now, while Wize Wiz Anelace is only 40k. I havent checked price of Gold Sword because its several levels away, but if you want to know which sword will do more damage against weak monsters, Gold Sword will. +14 Attack only helps you acheive your max damage more consistently, but higher weapon damage and str lets you do more max damage. (if i understand it correctly)

Thanks Gman. I should've been more specific ini my post. I will be using the sword primarily for farming. I mainly wanted to know the difference between the 38 dmg and the 34 dmg + 14 attack, but if your explaination is correct, then I will take the gold sword. Thanks everyone for the info.

I bought Gold Sword, and noticed that I hit for higher maximum, but less constant damage. WS damage was also noticeably (if slight) higher, but I switched back to W.W. Anelace anyway because I didn't like the hit 'sound' of the Gold Sword.

Next upgrade was Wing Sword, kinda sucked though because damage didn't seem to increase at all (and the +wind damage is overwritten by rdm en-element), sold.

Currently using Anelace (lvl72), this sword is nice, but I don't like how it looks exactly like the W.W. Anelace. I've had people ask me 'why on earth are you still using lvl 55 sword,' before having to reply '/check me plz.'

Enhancing sword ... useless, in my opinion. I would never buy this sword, and if I somehow got one I would immediately sell it.

Dream sword: Joyeuse. Sexiest RDM sword ever, too bad I'll never get it (I absolutely hate hnm hunts ) ...

The base damage of the Gold Sword also adds into attack pushing both your maxium and lower damage forward. For farming I'd say a Gold Sword for skillup in a xp party RG Fluret.

Enhancing Sword is very awesome and I love using it. I see no reason to sell it and its actually somewhat effective against IT's when I connect (must... skill.. up... sword skill). The accuracy and attack are activated by enspel adding about 25-30% extra damage while farming and you can incorporate that into a farming macro not to mention the attack and accuracy bonus you get.

For buyables I'd say a RG Fluret because you can use it in xp and farming unless you want to do higher level farming damage with a Gold Sword. If you can come across an Enhancing Sword or Joyuese you have an endgame sword and nothing else should really matter.

I am Lv65RDM and when i farm i sub NIN all the time so i use two swords. Yes you guessed it, i use both Gold and WWA and i noticed that Gold does more damage then WWA it has been proven. I used both on the same mob sperately and Gold did 4-8 more points of damage then WWA, but then again i use both so it doesnt bother me. ^__^
