Mana (Deffinatly if your Elvaan)
MND/INT (Whichever way you want to go...WHM/BLM)
HP
Rest are fillers I guess. Things like dex, agil and vit are nice but I wouldnt sacrafise any of the above for them.
Saying that, if you intend to solo and are Elvaan its probably worth investing in some dex equipment or accuracy stuff.Hoppkins - Red Mage - Ragnarok

Following is my opinion.
In level up parties your number 1 priority is to establish a 1-1 HP:MP ratio. Then to increase the HP and MP.
Following that increase your enfeeble magic skill, your elemental magic skill, and MND and INT.
For solo enhance magic skill is also useful.

Can I ask a sort of noobish question, coming from a lvl 48 RDM...
What's with the obsession of the MP-HP ratio? The way I see it so far (can't stress that enough) I don't run out of MP... I use convert because it's there, not because I need it. Is this odd, or bad?
Because of the Taru RSE equips, I have high HP. Normally I have a reasonably close Hp-MP ratio, but adding bonus equips that only enhance my HP is no reason to then try and balance the ratio again... the extra HP is just gravy.
Anyway, like I was saying, I rarely need convert in a good party. The need to have my enfeebles stick the first time I cast them is more important to me than a bit of extra MP. Maybe the rules are different for Taru, since we have high MP naturally... disregard my post if this is the case. By reading here I feel like I'm not being a good RDM, but really, having some extra HP shouldnt be considered a bad thing.FFXIV: ARR - Leviathan Server - 50 Bard, 47 Dragoon, 50 All crafts, 48 Botany, 48 Miner

I have to convert during every XP chain usually, unless we get lucky and the monsters dont use there fing nasty 10x in a row.
I have ~900hp/900mp at level 75. So thats a pretty dam nice convert~.

Ideally what you want to do as a redmage is to control the MP usage by everyone in your party so that
a) Your mp hits single digits just as convert recast is back
b) You are never waiting for one specific person's mp to recharge
I won't get into how you can do B because it changes from party to party. But in your case you need to work on A.
In some parties you may not need to use all of your mp every 10 minutes, But you CAN easily use all of your mp every 10 minutes by throwing in a few more elemental attacks, or a few more cures to help your whm save mp. Elemental attacks would help kill t he mob faster (especially since rdms rarely take hate), and less mp spent by whm means whm rests less.
So you are making the most of your role in the party if you use all of your mp every 10 minutes. The amount of mp recovered by convert is most efficient when your HP MP ratio is 1:1.
But actually it really doesn't matter if you have a 1:1 HPMP ratio in a good party. It matters most when your party is NOT ideal and you do end up using all of your mp normally, which will happen sometimes.
At higher levels, you want the 1:1 ratio to help make up for RDMs lack of higher level clear mind.

T_T I want more then level 1 Clear Mind lol. Errant Chest and Windurst CP Staff dont cut it >_<; I can go to heal at 500mp and whm has like 200 and he will beat me to 800mp =x.

Int, MP, and Mind. Use anything you can get your hands on
I have an Astral Ring, etc, set-up for when I convert, and then switch gear to my Int/Mnd boosting gear. When you master eq switching via macros, your life will be much easier.
Pre-Convert advice: say you have 230 MP with all of your MP boosting gear, and 200 MP with all of your Int/Mnd boosting gear. If you have the chance (you have enough downtime) to heal your MP up to 230, switch into that equipment, and then switch back when you have <= 200 MP remaining.
