  • Shield & Parry Skillup?

    Hi guys

I've currently been trying to raise my shield and parry ^^ I don't know why, but it's just something I want to cap out. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion as to where to go after my shield and parry have reached lvl 81 , 91 if you add in the effects of my artifact?

Thanks again for your help ^^

P.S I've been raising it against the Exoarys in Crawler's Nest lately does anyone know how far that will take my shield and parry up?

    Mine is very low...

Honestly i would assume the best way is by leveling paladin

    no other ideas

level warrior or thief would be my suggestion.

Im lv 32 red mage and my shield is at a pathetic 25 or somehting.

I notice the most improvements when fighting massive mobs. So my best idea would be to change to warrior or paladin since they level up fastest on shield (more skill ups per level).

Train a big mob to zone and let it whip on you for a bit then zone.

Shield seems reallly REALLLY slow to level.

I really want to do the same with shield parry but it seems real hard.

        I'm at 82 shield, 85 parrying at level 40.

Phalanx and Aquaveil and fight Yuhtunga Mandragoras until about 70-75, it slows down a lot then oddly. Yhoator Mandragoras go to 85 without slowing down, though theoretically they can get you to a little over 100.

Just don't use stoneskin, I think that stoneskin comes before parry/shield check, as for the 6 hours I did a skill up PT with my LS, the 2 hours I used stoneskin resulted in no skillups, the rest of it resulted in a pretty good gain.

You can also work on your dagger, clubs, and sword skills if they are sub 105-110ish, which seems to be about where the Yhoator Mandragoras cap out weapons, which is why I say it is theoretical they could raise shield/parry that high.

Just take some onion weapons and enjoy, with refresh, phalanx, decent armor and a good sub (WAR is preferrable for the extra defense) you can skill up with no downtime for hours. The Mandragoras attack with a LOT of attacks, so more chances for skillups, and do 0 damage with phalanx and a good chunk of defense.

        Hope that helps.

Once you take your skills as far as you can with easy enemies, move up to decent challenges and even matches, but make sure you do it near a zoneline because you're gonna be taking an awful lot of damage at higher levels. It's a good way to level your curing skill too since you'll be doing that a lot

Okay guys, I'm still in Crawler's Nest and I just wanted to confirm a few things.

            1) Stoneskin nor blinking before battle will not make a difference on raising your shield and parry. I've been getting consistant skill ups in evasion, parry, and shield

            2) At 62 (maybe a few levels before it as well) you can solo thru the helm beetles and rumble crawlers.

            3) So far tonight I've gotten my shield and parry to 95 skill, evasion to 175 skill, and my sword to 185 skill.

So if anyone else feels like wanting to level their shield, parry, and evasion feel free to give Crawler's Nest a try. It's actually pretty fun because at 62 the helm beetles are giving me anywhere from 60 exp to 80 exp and Crawlers are giving about 30 exp and they also drop their shells, jaws, and I even got a coffer key finally ^^ Hopefully after my shield and parry get better I can go kill crabs in Kuftal Tunnel with a hell lot more ease ^^ Last time I went it was such a long fight.

See you guys later and hopefully this info helps some
