The gloves and boots are nice but are better for solo than party. The tabard, hat, and legs are the best for party.

You don't think I know this would be all easier if I again, read my original post. Wher I stated YES, THIS would be MUCH EASIER if I jsut found 5 lvl 75's to get my just ONE KEY! Unfortunetly, I don't HAVE THAT luxury. Again, it's is difficult for say 6 lvl 55 to take on the skellies. They are quite powerful, so again.... It was EITHER take a BIG PARTY in which MANY need the key which means more lots, less chance of getting the key for myself, OR....... NOT going at all. I rather have SOME chance, than no chance at all.
And so on.. and so on... :spin: You're pretty stressed out about this all huh.. I can sympathize but if you read my post above yours again... At around 56 or MAYBE 58 at the most, one party can fight there. You don't need lvl 75's holding your hand or bring huge alliances. Trust me, alliances in Eldieme are detrimental. More people = more HP drained = more health for the undead = fights just as long, plus you got a ton more people in the yellow which in turn is just undead-aggro-heaven. Not to mention you'll only get alliances to go if a lot of people need keys.

Level up to 58'ish, then do the keys with a single pt, much easier that way. It's ok not to have every piece of AF right at the level you can use it but wait 2 or 4 levels *gasp*.

        Well said Ice,

look 50-60 is what makes and breaks ppl, really.
it aint valkrum, it aint qufim, nor Kahzam,
Your grasp on reality, and the actions that you have taken during this time will be your testimony to your community,
plz remember you are attaining the first endgame gear.

in the initial release of this game when lvl cap was 60, this was it, you attaining AF was the be all and end all,

attaining Rank6 was the final battle,

my perma pt broke up during this period, 39-60 we stayed together, but it was the last 5-10 lvls that really hurt, we lost our pld first, he stopped xp to lvl whm from 1-25 and blm from 1-12, why? so he could solo his AF's, our SAM at lvl 66 now still doesnt have all her pieces, (not that she needs them SAM AF = teh craptacular), If I had to do it again and not had my 75rdm(soon i promise, very soon), I would tell my perma PT lvl to 60 damnit!
any hunts you want to do, you do it on your own time, but at 60 its time to help each other out, ant this whole process wont hurt as much,

ive heard alot of ppl say the same thing about perma's and af's.
trust me guys i dinged 68 last night, I swear to you I would be alot higher if I had my friends still together, simply,
        30,000; 31,000; 32,000; 33,000; 34,000; 35,000; 36,000; 37,000; 38,000; 39,000 this is the exp bracket per lvl from 60-70,
trust me best to do AF's with your friends,

I don't spend anytime to help anybody? Please? have you played with me? Hell no, so dont' go around assuming things, I stay in teh parties to help poeple hunt their keys till everybody has it, or till it breaks, I stay till 6:00AM playing till everybody lvls up, sometimes 9:00AM. Evertyime I'm in davoi, and I hear a shout about getting pld, guess who responds? Purpleflash Brudock? Guess who comes helping? Everytime I hear those shouts I help, why? cuase I can, I'm able to, and takes me about 10 mins to do it. People in my LS? Guess what? I helped them get their ranks to as high as I can actually be able to, all their adv jobs? I help them.

Just yesterday alone, yeah, I got my key, I could have gone off and gotten my coffer, but I was the only one with a printout of the Coffer Spawnspots. So what did I do? I got my coffer, then went around Eldieme to help them find theirs, they had no idea where they spawned, but I did, and hunted it for them and got them their coffers too.

On the way out, I'm back in jeuno, a person I hunted the key with yesterday signs on, ask if I got my key, I'm just "yeah, I got my key, and I found the coffer". That person, who I partied with once, maybe twice, had no idea where to go, I'm not in eldimie anymore I'm about to log, what do I do? I come back, go back into that rat hole Eldieme, and I ran around checking each coffer point so that person could get their item out of it. Why? Cuas that person helped me yesterday.

Now I could go on but enough already, it doesn't really matter, you get the point. I help anybody I'm capable of helping.

Don't go aronnd slapping some BS label on me, cuase you honestly don't know anything about me.

If I sounded testy, hey sorry, didn't mean to upset you, I guess I was just feeling frustrated cuase nothing had gone right, growing pains I guess.

            On a HAPPY NOTE:

Yes the Nightmare has ended, I signed on early today, lfp for the coffer spawn, when I did there was already a party forming to go into eldieme, I joined up, about 12 people, needed about 6 keys, eh.. oh well, like I said, a small chance was better than no chance.

It didnt' seem like many kenw what they were doing, the lvl 60 warrior there only doing skill ups was trying to direct them, but they ran all over the place getting aggro'd, needless to say, it lead to many deaths. After that, nobody felt like going in, and the party disbanded.

I notice that a player that I had played with of higher rank was on that said would help me. This person plays out of switzerland so being on at the same time has been difficult. They had originally offered to help with my af becuase one day in Yhoator jng, a friend of mine wanted lvl 30 really bad to become a pld, was lvl 28 at the time, wanting to HELP (YES ICEMAGE, HELP) I pwr lvled their party so it would go smoothly since it was so crowded, and they could only pull smithy's. One of the party members was actually a lvl 70ish player I believe, asked me why I didn't have my AF up to date. I gave them my story, offered to help me out since I was having so much trouble, and I was being kind enough to stick around a few hours to pwr lvl them.

Hence being able to find some high lvl help. Also, another friend that I've been hunting the key for had a lvl 75 ranger friend who I've partied with before happened to be free for a few hours.

Being about to shout out "Please forgive me, Looking for membres, skill up, eldieme necropolis, CF Key, @2 member, lvl 75 rng, 56rdm."

Key part was the lvl 75, when people saw that, the high lvl ups were willling to join in for skillups. In the end, I had a lvl 62 pld, 62 drk, 62blm, 75 ranger and myself, 56 rdm. The most promising party I had been able to put together. The ranger really knew what he was doing, and knew a much better camp than where the rest of my parties have ever camped to. 1 hour, 2 keys, I was able to get one of them, so finally, I got my key, it just took some help, from a really high lvl acquaintence.

I was very grateful, and I offered that if they ever needed my help for anything that I was actually ABLE to help them with, just name it, pwr lvling a new job they might be lvling or whatever. they took it all in stride and said it was no biggie, and they came in there to skill up anyway, so they were all happy already.

So thanks Wolfie, Titusi____something  , Soma, Aris.

And that's when I went coffer chest hunting that I was talking about in my last post, so you already know what happened.

Killed dark spark, pretty much a mage bash, 3 whm's, 1 lvl 73 whm, 56 rdm, melees where, 56 drg, 56 drk, the drk was teh one that I went back into eldieme to help find theif coffer chest cuse they had no idea where they were. FIrst time I had been to Castle Zvahl baileys, very nice dungeon.

So yeah, in the end, I was very LUCKY to find some higher lvl help, and I finally got my key, and I have my freakin af glove. And luckily, I was able to help friend get it at teh same time.
Was hell to go through, but I'm very happy now.

Thanks for all the helped, giving me tips on the best way to approach this quest, I really appreciate it.

Um, I have a dumb question...

              Both Mysterytour : http://mysterytour.web.infoseek.co.jp/ffxi/us/

              and Eriwilde: http://ffxi.game-host.org/eriwilde/ffxi/job/index.html#

say that you get Eldieme coffer keys from Tomb Wolf and Utukku for the AF gloves quest. Eriwilde's site also says only 2 lvl 55's are needed to get keys. Are they both wrong?

(Congratulations!) on completing the Eldieme Necropolis coffer...

I totally hated that place for my Genkai and for BRD AF2... before I had the fortune of running into a friend (Yowayowa-san) whom I had leveled before in Quicksand Caves with in my 40's...

I went through no less than 3 alliances (no papyri) and several deaths (no worry about being capped at level 50 for weeks on end with all that xp loss )

Fortunately, Yowayowa-san turned out to be a MNK68 with a few other friends in his LS that I had leveled with at varying times in the past... he offered his help (which I gratefully received) and getting the papi's was a matter of a few hours camping in the Northern (Long Way Thru The Glacier) Necropolis.

I hope never to have to go out there for anything too soon - at least until I have leveled up sufficently not to be an aggro magnet.

Then I'll be able to help others in kind (as much as my little Tarutaru BRD self can ^^ )

                      I'm sorry

Please forgive me, i did not mean to discourage or be an @$$ ( looking back, my post sounded justlike that )

What i should spelled clearly is what the others said. Keys are far easier to get when you're the only one needing em ( or two people are most ).

That way, lv75's wil be more willing to help.

Anyway, congratulations on your gloves, and better luck with future pieces.

So far I have already gotten my Garlaige coffer out of the way, when I had first did my shout in LowJeuno, I had asked if anybody was looking for coffer's in Eldeime, Garlaige, or Oztroja. Surely enough, somebody was looking for the one in Garlaige and had his LS helping him consisting of friends all around 60++ most in which had most of their LS.

COmpared to the hell I went through in Eldieme, Garlaige was a cakewalk, took about 15 mins to get to keys :spin: . Simply dropped down the hole, ran across the field, and camp in the tunnel, we pulled a some weapons, and a tainted flesh, never really got the chance to grab any skellies. It was so easy, no doubt to the help of all the lvl 60+++s helping.

After we got them, Twisted, who was the one who helped me was going to hunt the coffer in Beaudeux with is friends, I offered any help if they needed me as it would have not been possible for me to get my Garlaige key if they didn't help.

I'm not sure if they all spoke english, seemed like only a few of them did. In the end they said it was okay, and they just invited me cause I was in the right place at the right time. Honestly, they didn't even need me there since he had all his friends there helping, they just figure to knock out 2 birds with one stone I guess.

Thanks Twisted, Nym, Susuze, Shadara, Blackdeath.

on a sad note, 2 days later, Shadara was in my group helping hunt the Eldieme key when I still didn't have it, and ended up dying when tomb mages popped, aggro'd/warriors, linked, then more linked, then more, then more... then dead.

I don't want to have to go back into Eldieme if I don't have to, but.... some people that I made friends with along the way while hunting in Eldieme Coffer key, still do'nt have their Key yet... so it looks like I'll be going back in there to help them out

That and they all told me they have no idea where the Coffer spanws, and since I'm the only one that does.... Yep... I'm still going to be back in there.

You don't need 75s to do this. Parties of level 60s chew those up, 65+ and its about as hard as going to sleep.
