  • Which to buy...

Well, now that I've finally got enough money for either my RSE belt or a dark staff (whoohoo @ it dropping in price), which do you think would benefit me more? My RSE belt gives me 40 MP and 3 INT, while the dark staff has the +10 mp recovered while healing... Hard choice. >_<

Man I dunno but if it was me, I would take the belt because where the staff I mean basically it just saves you time and dont have to heal as long, and the belt actually gives you more MP.

In my opinion, I don't see much use for the +10MP while resting. I mean, at that level you should already have Clear Mind and have a RDM (Probably Yourself ) as the MP refresher. If your more into nuking, go with the RSE belt .

I think I'd go w/ the staff. As a refresher you really don't rest as much as the other mages in the pt (especially if ur refreshing more than 3 members)...so those first few ticks really counts. 40 mp is nice to have but other than converting and resting to full, you'll never reach such a high mp. Plus come on! The staff image looks really nice!

The 3 int is nice though for mbs. Tough choice...

Wow. Just checked the price for dark staff on Ragnarok, and it's now plummeting. It's dropped down to nearly 300k now.

Personally, I would choose the belt.
            1) RDM shouldn't worry about restoring MP too much because you have convert and refresh. You don't even rest I guess!
            2) Because of the low Int of Elvaan, the belt would be a better choice

I'm gonna take a stab and guess that you haven't even played RDM. Or, haven't played RDM long enough to even have convert or refresh. If so, please refrain from giving advice unless you're absolutely sure that you're right (because you're not).

Well, Cakosama is right on some angle. Resting is virtually nill for me now when I farm. I wear RSE for body and hand, the other pieces of equipment also being a cloth type armor.

I run around Palborough Mines on the third tier, killing Copper, Old, and Brass Quadav's like mad. Keep in mind now, the highest defence any of my armor gives me is 16 (I think), which is also my BODY piece. Cast Protect II, Shell II and Stoneskin then Refresh. Refresh replinishes all the MP I've used in a short while .

Also in experience party's so far, I've had almost no downtime (except for the occasional links  ). I frequently use convert and refresh as much as possible, always giving my WHM's a stroke :spin:.

And at higher level's, I do believe even RDM have to begin to rest again. Refresh recovers a good chunck of MP, but it does cost 40MP to use, and if you have more than 1 mage in your group, it's gonna get a bit hectic :dead:. And like Regen, it does take time to recover your MP, especially if you are a Taru Taru . So if you find yourself in a XP grinding party, you will find yourself resting at times, even with refresh on .

                *Edited for spelling >.<*

Staff for more mp return. Your INT should be good enough as it is and rdm nuking slows down because you are too busy as it is. I'd say staff before belt. A Royal Knights Belt gives you bonuses to INT, MND and many other statistics at level 50, lots of people still wear it later on into the game.

I've decided on buying the staff. Right now, it's 150k less than the belt. I'd rather have the staff and 150k to use on buying other gear or to put away to saving another 500k for the belt. ^^

Well, it was 300k yesterday morning. Now it's back up to 350k.

The staff was definately the better choice. Rest time is so short that anything that optimizes it is a god-send. Plus, with its lower price, you aren't broke!
