  • Did I do something wrong?

I leveld my rdm up to 32, with whm sub. I dropped rdm at that point and picked up drk, although i initially intended to be rdm all the way. It just seemed that my job sucked. I could heal a bit enfeeble, and MB (not in that order of course). But overall I just felt as though I was not a true necessity to the grp. Maybe this is because every grp I had been in had a rdm (obviously me) so I don't know how effective a grp is without the mob being enfeebled. Also, the job is incredibly expensive, I spent much more time farming and mining than actually leveling. Buying the same armor as the melee my level (chicken armor atm) and having to bring a wheelbarrel to the AH to buy spells like phalanx was just rediculous.

    Any words of en/de-couragement?

At 32, you'll begin to feel a bit more unique in what you bring to a PT in the form of Dispel. Before that, you're like a WHM without -na spells.

It's not until level 41 where you get Refresh that you'll feel like a unique asset to the group. When you get that spell, the PT will be able to pull non-stop because everyone will have almost full MP all of the time.

lol, I'm wearing a linen robe (lvl.12), and I'm lvl.42 at the moment. The only gear I buy is to increase my MP pool. At the moment, I don't have any gear for my feet or back.

Yes, this job does require a lot of farming for spells (dispel = 67k), but that is essential when you are in Crawler's Nest. When you get dispel, you'll be invited to parties automatically.
