Im lvl 47 atm, I haven't bough dispel. :sweat: 65-68k in Jeuno's AH. Just wondering is it going to useful later on? Fighting in Crawler's Nest atm, killing hornflies, and don't need to cast dispel on those, but as i lvl up to 50+ will dispel be needed often or not?

Buy it, it's essential for a Rdm now and later. You need it to get rid of a Crawler's Cocoon, a Crab's scissor shield, a Crab's bubble shell, an Antican's sand shield, spikes of any kind, beetle's evasion boost, and a whole lot of other things that I can't remember atm.

Dispel is very very very very important.

Level 47 with no dispel? :confused: Don't take this personally, but if I partied with a 47 rdm (with underlevelled sub, too) with no dispel, I'd immediately get a bad impression about him/her.

I am sorry to say Dispell is one of the two key spells for a rdm. Many times people look for rdm in order to dispell mobs who enhance themselves. You really should stop the leveling and get dispell asap.

I'm already getting bothered by the fact that I don't have Dispel yet... and I've counted a few times when I could have profited from using Dispel Currently RDM33/WHM16 in East Altepa fighting Beetles and the ocassional Antican, that Silence AoE ability they have HURTS.

I plan to stop levelling when I hit 34 and start doing some gilfarming; only (only..... -_-) need roughly 40k to buy that cursed spell

As for Refresh, I had it when I was at LV38. It cost me around 60K at that time.

Anyway, it's always fun to learn new songs/spells whenever we have our LVs up. When I hit LV41 and just used Refresh scroll, anyone in my PT were pleased and shouted like,

Does Dispel target only monsters, or could you use it to dispel status ailments on yourself and pt members?

Dispel only works on mobs. Erase, a WHM (Lv32) only spell, is the equivalent spell for PT members.

dispel dispels positive effects from enemies such as protect, haste, etc.

erase erases negative effects on PT members such as bia, dia, rasp, etc
