  • Post your favorite PT configuration

I hope this helps those who want to lead the PT when they form it.

Well, when you post your idea, please include

    -------------------------------------------------------------
    1) Your LV and sub-job
    2) PT configuration
    3) Where to go
    4) What to hunt
    5) Skillchain (if there's no skillchain, that's fine.)
    6) Advice, Reason, and etc.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

Please DO NOT try to object to others. I just want to see how they are doing. If you think you have better idea, do it yourself instead and post the result! Anyway, I'm the first one to post my favorite combo.

    1) RDM61/BLM30

    2)
    - NIN/WAR (Tank)
    - DRK/THF (Attacker)
    - WAR/THF (Attacker)
    - BRD/WHM (Supporter & Secondary Healer)
    - RDM/BLM
    - WHM/SMN (Main Healer)

    3) Quicksand Caves (At the entrance. Enter there from G-6 of West Altepa Desert)

    4)
    - Antican Aedilis, Antesignanus, Quaestor, Triarius.
    - Sand Tarantula (there's only one there. 28 minutes to repop)

    5) Raising Rush (+Sneak Attack) -> Guillotine (+Sneak / Trick Attack) - MB Thunder II

    6) Many people don't seem to know about this place even though this is a good place to get both XP and money (from dark crystals, spider net, and other anticans gears). There are tons of anticans there and easy to get 5 chains with this configuration but be careful not to get them linked

    Here's another.

    1) RDM24/WHM12

    2)
    - NIN/WAR (Tank)
    - DRK/WAR (Attacker)
    - WAR/MNK (Attacker, Temporary tank while NIN is casting Utsusemi)
    - BLM/WHM (Nuke)
    - BRD/WHM (Supporter, Protectra)
    - RDM/WHM (Main Healer, Enfeebling, and Barwatera)

    3) Korroloka Tunnel (Southern part, G-7)

    4)
    - Clipper (not active, don't link)
    - Creater Pugil (active)

    5) Blade: Teki -> Frostbite + MB Blizzard (RDM) -> Sturmwind + MB Thunder (BLM)

    6) If this place is already occupied, you can still hunt clippers near the exit to Western Altepa Desert. I am 100% sure this place is much better (4,500+ XP / hour granted) than Yuhtunga Jungle which is always crowded.

Since WHM can't cast Protectra II until LV27 and we don't need Shellra, no WHM required.

        1) 60RDM/30BLM

        2)
        - PLD/WAR
        - RNG/NIN
        - THF/NIN
        - BRD/WHM
        - RDM/BLM
        - WHM/SMN

        3) Cape Teriggan (a cave to Valley of Sorrows, I-9)

        4)
        - Robber Crab
        - Terror Pugil
        - Velociraptor

        5) Sidewinder -> Dancing Edge (+Sneak/Trick Attack) + MB Blizzard II

        6) To make full use of RNG's potential, BRD is always necessary. With this setup, you'll see something like 1,000 damage (Sidewinder) -> 700 damage (Dancing Edge) -> 300 damage (Brizzard II).

          - RDM/BLM

          3) Yhorator Jungle (at Teleport-Yhoat)

          4)
          - Worker Crawler (not active but they link)
(Do not pull Master Coeurl or you are dead. If a puller accdentally aggroed by them, teleport to the safe place)

          5)
Piercing Arrow -> Viper Bite (+Sneak/Trick Attack) - MB Blizzard

          6) Kahzam (ride on Chocobo) -> Yuhtunga Jungle -> Yhoator Jungle. You can go there without Teleport-Yhoat crystal by this way.

This is kind of a hard choice, but i'll put the config of the best xp PT I've been in to date.

            -------------------------------------------------------------
            1) 55RDM/27BLM (Mithra)

            2) 55WAR/27NIN (Hume)
            55BLM/27WHM (Taru)
            55WAR/27THF (Mithra)
            55BRD/27WHM (Hume)
            55RNG/27NIN (Hume)

            3) Kuftal Tunnel, in the large open area in the middle of the map.

            4) Robber Crabs

            5) I'm going to have to check the chart, but it ended with RNG Sidewinder (this WS is SICK! at 1000+ damage)> Distortion with MB Blizzard II from the RDM and BLM.

            6) With the casters on one mound and the melee on the other. The RNG and tank did alternating pulls, notifying the team of who found a mob first. The BRD did a great job of keeping Madrigal on the melee and Mage's Ballad on the casters in addition to my Refreshing. I kept both tanks Hasted, while the BLM/WHM actually did a remarkable job healing, only nuking when they renkei'd for MB (which was about 3 times a fight). We were able to pull IT Crabs almost continuously at 150xp+. We did this for a solid 2.5 hours and netted 11K xp.

Kind of a strange PT config, as my usual favorite lineup is PLD/WAR
            DRK/THF
            DRG/THF
            BLM/WHM
            WHM/BLM
            RDM/BLM

...but, this team rocked INCREDIBLY hard.

Last night was the best by far:

                1) RDM42/BLM21

                2) RDM/BLM (refresh, and debuff)
                BRD/WHM
                WHM/BLM
                NIN/WAR (tank)
                SAM/WAR (dmg/fuidama)
                THF/NIN

                3) Western Altepa near the big castle thing (?) with winding paths infront of it.

                4) Desert Beetles

                5) Enpi >> Viper Bite : Blizzard MB

                6) Our tank/puller was rank10 and he was pulling non-stop for about 3 hours straight, until he asked if he could take a quick break . At one point, he pulled two IT's on accident, but we were able to sleep the second, until the WHM died because benediction, then another one spawned right next to us. Damn, I thought it was all over, but no. The NIN tank all 3 of the IT in a row when every was at about 30% HP and I was at 5% MP, simply amazing. In about 3.5 hours I got around 14k exp. We were able to get a couple 5 chains and hit 280xp in a single fight numerous times. The only downside was that since we had a bard, I had to stand with the WHM to let the BRD do his magic properly, so I couldn't train my sword skill. Oh well.

                  PLD/WAR
                  BLM/WHM

                  3) Yuhtunga Jungle. I'm not sure the <pos> of it, but it's down this hill that is hidden by one of those wooden walls, when you enter Yuhtunga.

                  4) Yuhtunga Mandragoras

                  5) I'm fairly sure we did a level 1 WS, which doesn't make much sense.. but it was fine. Yeah, great PT.. 0 downtime due to BRD WHM RDM... sweet

                  6) Just a great group.. Everyone in it leveled like twice.. within 2-3 hours.

Best group i had was in Garlaige Citadel (sp?) around lvl 35

                    Pld/War (main tank)
                    Mnk/War (temp tank untill trick+sneak)
Thf/Nin (trick+sneak) (and tons of dmg with viper skill chains)
Brd/Thf (mage songs + melee songs)
Whm/Smn (awsome healer, tons of mana)
Blm/Whm (damage dealer + backup heals if needed)

200+ xp per kill, and contant with lotsa chains, battles we're quick due to the higher damage skill chains we were doing with thief, almost non exsistant downtime between pulls due to songs

Lacked some firepower if we had blm instead of the 2nd whm we could have been better. Had a hard time refreshing 4 people and being the main Elemental damage source but it worked pretty well. Went from 50~51 in like 6hours.

Wops... copy pasted. Sorry I will write them in english. First group's Renkei were:

                            Sam - Pld
Tachi: Enpi > Seraph Blade > MB Water2

Tachi: Kagero > Raging Fists > MB Fire2

                            Second Group renkei:

                            Nin - Thf

Enpi > Seraph Blade (Distortion) MB WAter II/Blizzard II

Overall good group, were able to easily bring the pain on Beetles with the double distortion renkei and blizzard/water MBs. You really need a good puller for this area so you don't aggro other beetles or bats. The spot is not always taken, but with more than 2 parties there, it starts to get cramped(second party will be forced to fight the bats for smaller experience, since they path through their camp).
