Armor past AF...

I was wandering about Killing Ifrit today, and I saw armor that could be better for the "body" slot than the Warlock Tabard.


Crimson Scalemail

Breath Damage taken -10%

Lv. 73 RDM/PLD/DRK/RNG/DRG

Warlock Tabard
DEF: 44
MP +14

Lv. 58 RDM AF

Now, Crimson Scalemail gives much better bonuses to base stats, and its DEF is better for soloing than the RDM AF. The Warlock Tabard doesn't give so great of a boost to stats, but it looks better than Crimson Scalemail (in my opinion), and its miscellaneous boosts are better.

Opinions?

I've seen alot of DRG wearing this armor as a precursor to Dragon Scale (its just a red version of it anyway). The thing I'd like to know is where do you get it? Its got a RARE & EXE tag to it, so I assume its a NM drop. Anyone know which beasty has it?

Recently, a lot of people in my LS have been noticing that some people have what appears to be JSE(Job Specific Armor) That is like 20 times better than AF armor stats.

Maybe it's completely wrong, but 3 of them saw it in a guy's(Guilty was his name) bazaar, out in the middle of Yuhtungah Jungle(SP?). We're out on the Lakshmi server, so if you see him.. maybe he'll still have it, check him out! ^^

JSE does indeed exist, but I could have sworn it, like AF equipment, is both Rare and EX -- therefore, they could not have seen it in someone's Bazaar because that person could not place them in the Bazaar. I could be wrong about them being EX, though.

From a logical standpoint, however, it would be silly for this Guilty person to sell JSE (if indeed he is) in the middle of such an area as Yuhtunga, where the highest average level is about 28. Considering JSE is equipment for probably L70-75, there's a very small chance that anyone would buy it (and he'd probably charge a fortune for it, anyway).

I still don't think JSE is sellable, though. =/

I would just like to point out that the equipments Guilty was selling may have been the 2nd JSE sets (Hume=Custom, Elvaan=Magna, Taru=Wonder...etc.). They are around lvl 33, but I'm not sure if they are EX or not.

The Custom/Magna/Wonder sets are RSE (Race Specific Equipment) not JSE (Job Specific Equipment). RSE is hunted every week as patterns are assigned by the goblin tailor in Jeuno and are sold quite frequently in the AH for around 30-40K.

JSE, however, is 70+ tradeskill armor that are job-specific, meaning only one job can wear them, irrespective of race. These are sometimes seen in the AH in Jeuno for 3 million gil+.

Anyway, true JSE never carries an EXE tag, meaning it is tradeable. This makes sense since JSE armor is made via tradeskills from HNM parts (King Behemoth for example). Usually the people who make it aren't the people wearing it.

I'm really not certain about cursed equipment though. I do know that there is a category in the AH for cursed gear, but I haven't seen anyone put anything up for sale. It may be that cursed gear is tradeable until it is equipped, then it becomes unremovable (standard operating procedure for cursed items in every RPG).

Anyone have any concrete information on cursed items?

Basically, the Cursed equipment is tradable. You need to kill certain HNMs for a drop to get the equipment uncursed. When you uncurse it, it becomes an item from one of the different sets, and those sets are all R/EX equipment.


And just to note on JSE - not every job has JSE.

Yeah, I can't say why this guy was selling the JSE in his bazaar in an area of level 25-28's. Maybe he was going somewhere else? He prolly has other stuff to do.. just put the selling on the backburner.

Rdm doesn't have any jse as far as I know (only a few Rdm only swords which looks just like other swords)
