  • Lv55Farming guide please

Jei or other high Rdm please advice me ^^
Now I just hit lv 55 and i think i'll stuck here for a while to get appropriate gear + spell . This is my profile

    1. Elvaan
    2. using Full RSE set ; ;
    3. using Rdm AF1 sword
    4. shield lv 29 or so /blush
    5. 2Xring -20HP , +20MP
    6. I don't have Phalanx

Q1: TO focus "Only on Farming", what should I buy first ,second , ... last ?
Q2: which gear i should change to max out farming? ( i know only I should buy lv 55 sword from reading another post lol )
Q3: Now I am doing just ok with Batalia Tiger , but sometimes it's so frustrated when tooo many farmer are in zone >_< : so what other choice I have? Should I go Davoi orc , Beaduax quadav??

    Thanks much for advice

hmmm the 2 items that are great for farming imo is druid's robe and fencer ring that you should get. druid's robe -10% cast interruption, fencer's ring +5 en damage latent effect.
I put on my armors, shield and sword, and the only accessories i wear are those 2, nothing else. MP gear is useless you'll be using /thf and refresh yourself anyway

As myself I cast spells all the time when im farming and I don't want to deal with timing my cast (i have en-haste-phalanx in 1 macro) you really just want to cast whenever you want and not be interupt. druid's robe is your best friend.

For 55 you pretty much can kill same stuff with/without phalanx : / try these, they are my personal choice.

    lower level enemies
    - crawlers in shakrami. silks... kill scorpions too if you want.
    - old quadav in beadax. drop helm which trade for 900gil repeatable quest in bastok. Steal them for easy silver coins with sells for 4-5k a stack. Also Ooz which drop dodge ear rings, 30-40k. ear rings are rare drop, just kill ooz whenever you run into one. I don't like to farm them.
    - sheep in beadaux. cna drop milk and skin very easy. 1 wind crystal + 2 skin = 1 wool. 12 wool = 7-8K in windurst. don't sell anywhere else, only windurst gives good price in AH. Milk are 1-1.2K a stack
    - mushrooms in jugner

    higher level enemies
    - teleport to Vaz and sneak back to Beaucedine if you want to farm tigers. TONs of them there and easier to drop. slightly tougher than batallia's tigers
    - lizards in yutanga/yhaotor. drop skin very easy. skins are 6-8K a stack
    - garnet quadavs in bedaux (how do you spell that place? -_-) kill nothing else but garnets. get mauls and reraise with some wool cloth sometimes.

you can do them all without phalanx just will lose more HP.

Hehe ditch the AF1 sword, you should get either the lvl47 or lvl50 "big-type" swords (lvl47 is knight sword I think, lvl50 looks the same but has 1 more damage); they're just over 10k but will give you more damage over AF1. When you're richer you can buy either of the two lvl 55 swords.

Don't worry about buying armor, you're getting AF now anyway; at 55 you can wear boots and gloves. Boots are remarkably easy to get, you probably have a crawler's nest chest key already (if you don't, it's easy to get). Eldieme Necropolis coffer key for gloves is a tad bit harder to get, though. You get pants at 56, body at 58, and hat at 60, so new armor isn't really an issue. Personally I'm saving up for Royal Knight's Aketon at 55; even though the stats aren't anything special the looks are +100, and the red color goes well with the bits of AF that I already have (plus mithra RSE is red, too) til 58.

As for farming spots, well, my current farming area can get me 20-30k per hour on a good day, but that depends heavily on: 1. luck; and 2. competition, so until I get rich and never need gil again, it'll remain my personal secret (actually it's no big secret, lots of people know this area but I'd rather not tell anyway ). On a bad day I can get less than 5k per hour though :spin:

Well, if you want to be industrious and improve your synth as well as make money, start mining. This isn't necesarily a better way to make money, but it is a viable way. I just warn you that it takes patience, a sizeable initial investment and careful monitoring of the Vana'diel calander and AH trends.

Firstly, for this to be profitable, you need to make an initial investment of picks (180 gil each) and field gear (30K). Then its off to Palborough, Gusgen or Ordelles if you're a goldsmith/blacksmith of some skill, Zehrun if you're a synthing newbie. For beginning mining, I simply suggest bringing a stack of fire crystals with you and beginning in Zehrun mines, making brass and bronze ingots (sell for 2-3K a stack in AH) until you're ready to move on up the foodchain. Please note that Zehrun ores only go as high as darksteel(very rare), Palborough has no darksteel, but has silver and platinum ores - Gusgen has highest darksteeel content as well as gold and colored stones.

Anyway, keep the copper, zinc and tin for training your skill until around level 10-13 and sell all the higher ores for now. On my server iron ores sell for 600 gil each, silver ore for 500 gil, darksteel ore for 6K, gold ore for 6K and platinum ore for 20K. While darksteel, gold and platinum are fairly rare, I can usually find a darksteel or two an hour with a gold or platinum every few hours.

While the cash yield doesnt seem that great at first, keep trying. I was able to make 70K worth of sales in my first 4 hours of mining (mind you I already had goldsmithing and smithing trained up). Since most synthers your level are working on silver and gold ingots to raise skill, you'll find your ores sell at a fairly rapid pace. With goldsmithing and smithing raised to level 13 respectively, you can synth iron and silver into ingots (with adv synth support) that sell for 2-2.5K each or 22-26K per stack. As far as space is concerned, synthing the ingots is especially nice since ingots are stackable and ores aren't. With enough skill you can synth them as you mine to make more room. A good solid day of mining (6-8 hours) for me yields 2 stacks of silver ingots and around 3 stacks of iron ingots, each stack selling for 22-26K. Sans pick cost (around 10-13K for enough picks) its a tidy profit, especially with any darksteel or higher ores tossed into the mix.

Anyway, that's my spiel on making money at your level. Its not fast cash, and its not easy, but its alot more interesting than bashing on X mob Y times for Z drop. Mining/synthing/selling can be competitive, addictive, and incredibly profitable. Its been a nice change of pace for me after over 10 days clocked in Beadeuax farming Quadav Helms. My LS enjoyed mining/synthing so much that we formed a mining guild LS (MinersUnion) on the side for price fixing in the Bastok AH ^^

Hi. This is my first post on these boards. Deodorant, you said that you have a way to make 20-30 k in 1 hour. I am lv 20 Rdm and I cant make even 5k in 1 hour. What an I doing wrong? I know you dont want to post in this board how do you do that; but please, tell me how to make at least 5-10k. I will live with that. If you want to tell me by mail fine, if you want to post it, is even better. I wont cause you problems, remember I am in Ramuh and you in Ragnarok.

5k an hour is good for level 20, don't worry. A level 52 Redmage can kill A LOT more things than a level 20 Redmage can. For example I like killing Olds and Garnets in Beaudeaux en masse for gil farming. A level 20 would have problems soloing one Old Quadav, let alone killing them back to back without downtime.

mining can make a lot of money in only a couple mining spots you get to mine. sometimes I mine 2 dark steel from 1 mining spot in gusgen. But the tough part is it might take you 20-30 minutes running around without finding any spots at all -_-' which is most likely the case... the competition is that high.

Yea it feels good after you mine your first couple times and get 10-20k worth of ores, but then... I start feeling sick running around in circles doing nothing for hours and hours. If you keep doing you might get lots of money but the pay off is you'll become all drowsy and bored.

When I was mid LV30s, I used to go mining a lot, too.

Now I usually go hunting magic pots and light/thunder elementals because mining is boring...

I'll try gardening soon because my friend informed me that he got tons of money from platinum nuggets (60K/dozen). From what I've reserched, we can even get adaman ores from gardening.

Thanks for the fast reply. I don't even make 5k per hour. I just got lucky with some items when farming in party: 2 scrolls and some ores. That's all. I was trying to kill Lizards for Skins, but they take too many hits to die. Still looking for something "Not boring" to do.
