Bow Progression...

rugal we were only level 55-57 and then 57-58 when i noticed that the rng/war was doing more damage.

he used an ebow too so his per hit was slightly less then mine, and my slug hit for about 100 points more then his (hate spike)

i also noticed that he took conciderably less damage when being hit then me and the other rng/nins took....im sure its not enough to keep him alive, but it definately makes a difference.

he also seems to think berserk makes him more accurate i didnt comment on it because he is a good friend and who cares if he thinks berserk affects ranged accuracy, i let him know i didnt see how that could be possible though.

im a big fan of rng/nin i just think theres alot of cooler better things you can do as a mithra rng/nin with your gear if you sub nin.


like its not a must i wear agi on my feet at all, i can wear str boots and back items and be perfectly fine.

1) Berserk lowers your defense significantly, meaning /WAR will take MORE damage over time.
2) Berserk has absolutely no effect on accuracy or ranged accuracy. Saw this on several threads, and tested it myself (parsed my accuracy with /WAR and /NIN, /WAR has much less accuracy).

i meant big fan of rng/war but i think rng/nin can do alot of things with gear that rng/war cannot or should not do.

i.e sub out some rng acc gear for str gear and still be more accurate.

the ability to step over the hate treshold without getting penalized for doing so is VERY beneficial for a job which is built so it DOES get a lot off aggro, through high damage output.

Rugal touched some tangent on how you COULD use /war, but only when you have extremely reliable teammates.



Warning levels past 10 means you're likely to be a flamer. Then some just willingly try to achieve warning points.

Reviving a topic that's turned into a flame war, as far as I can tell....

....has anyone else noticed a *big* damage discrenpancy between Shigeto Bow, MC Bow, and Gendawa? A friend of mine recently HQ'd the first Gendawa+1 on our server, so he's been using it to cap out his archery in merit point parties. While originally using shigeto bow and kabura arrows, he's been noticing that gendawa+1 and kabura outdamage the shigeto bow by a *large* margin. Not 2-3 points, like, more than 10-15 points.

I've heard from other people that Shigeto bow and MC bow have a bugged STR modifier, seems like it adds some more proof to it.

I've tried M.Cst bow but never tried Gendawa or Shigeto, both have really high delays that I don't particularly like. M.Cst's damage is pretty the best I've seen on gods with high defense, though I don't notice much of the R.Acc.

As in, you actually see it adds extra STR? That's probably not the case, since it would be more noticeable and other people would have reported this by now.

So your friends are saying, even though they don't notice their STR go up, they think it does? I find this confusing, since the damage formulae in the game are already nebulous at best (so many random and unknown factors are involved) that it would be difficult to pinpoint STR among other things as the reason certain bows do more damage than others... What kind of proof did they have?
