Underlevelled sub

At the moment I'm RNG20/NIN10, but once I hit level 26, I'll be RNG26/NIN12 - my ninja sub is only at level 12.

I have Utsusemi: Ichi, and there is nothing in me that wants to play NIN as a Blink tank. Are the NIN bonusses beyond Utsusemi and Dual Wield such that I can get away with an underlevelled sub, or should I bite the bullet and level NIN up, despite my utter hatred of the class?

On a side note, if I do level NIN, you can be sure that {Blink} {Shield} {No thanks} will appear in my search comment:dead:

Don't use ninja SJ then :p Especially if you're going to be lazy and not get utsusemi.

Hmm, sorry to hear that you hate ninja. Bad news is that at the highest levels, you will most likely sub ninja anyways (especially if going after HNMs). If you don't care about raids, then /war is a perfectly fine alternative. Utsusemi Ichi and Ni would be really nice in those instances of HNMs though. Might as well bite the bullet and level ninja up now.

Oh I do have Utsusemi - In fact that is the only reason I even levelled NIN to 12 =P

My main question is if NIN's stat bonusses and job traits/abilities are useful. If I somehow get to level 74 RNG, I will most certainly level NIN up, but I don't foresee that happening any time soon. But it is my understanding that NIN is only used for Dual Wield and Utsusemi: Ichi - and everything else NIN has to offer is negligible/unapplicable.

To be honest a simple look at NIN's JAs would answer my question, but feel free to discuss anyways o_O

You want your subjob maxed for even the minor stat and hp boosts it provides. Otherwise it totally negates the purpose of you buying +1 gear.

Dual wield haste at 25 isn't bad either.

The other thing is, anyone who's seriously looking for good party members will skip right over you if you've got an underleveled sub. Thats the first thing you look at to see if they invest any time and pride into their character. You're just hurting yourself there.. and with all the drg's playing ranger now...

Dammit! You're supposed to say "no, you'll be no worse off than if you did level your sub" so I wouldn't have to go back and level NIN >_<;

Or you could just solo your NIN.

NINs have E in archery
C in Markmanship (No crossbows though and guns aren't good until 22)
A in throwing (No Shuriken until 18)

Yeah, no matter what Sub you use if you leave it underleveled any gear you get to improve yourself becomes negated. The sub job has to be maintain or it becomes worthless. I would never let it go beyound 2 levels under, even though at 2 levels under it makes a lot of bonuses from gear minimal then.
