Tarutaru rangers

sorry, I know you guys get these questions all the time and I entered a search into the forums but didn't find my answer there.

I'm just wondering if the Tarus make a good ranger? or if there is anything massivly prohibiting about them?

all it did was show they can be cute lil things.

Taru rng isnt the best pick cuz it dies very quick, if you do to much dmg(and rangers are notorious for this) youll die fairly quickly. As far as dmg goes, tarus do low dmg on bow because of their low STR, as far as gun goes, if its true that gun is not dependant on STR like bow is(and many people go against this theory) than taru would be doing good dmg with gun and hit accurately but will die pretty quick after they do too much damage from a slug shot(sidewinder gun ver) or barrage.

It's been proven that Gun damage IS dependant on STR.

Well, since taru have a lower damage output compared to the other classes, they will still pull hate, but probably not as often. You just have to be smart about it. It will probalby be hell until the higher levels where tanks are able to hold hate better. If you've got a good pld tank, you shouldn't be able to pull hate from him very often.

Heh, it's not like they do -that- much less damage. It's like hitting something with a 15.8lb sledghammer vs a 16lb. You're still going to pull hate if you try.

any race can make a good rng.
taru has 2nd highest agi, but low HP is a problem. meaning you'll have to sub nin if you want to survive.

edit: of course the other advantage is, you look cooler in AF than any other race ~_^

nah a good rng should take hate everytime

then have a good thf put it back on.

Thf and RNG are best friends (and BRD!)

Taru will do less dmg but has very high agility so at least you will hit more often. Low Hp on taru gives you some problems but with a good war or pally, you shoudnt have too much trouble with hate. You can sub nin for utusemi/blink which if I have heard correctly will effectively save you from 3 attacks giving your tank enough time to get hate back. I'm lvling a taru right now so I can go ranger on him and I don't see any problems with them. You are gonna take some hits, but until you get to lvl 30+ a few hits wont matter too much. My whm takes hits all the time and it doesn't do much dmg at all. Since equipment matters so much on rangers anyways, you are gonna need top of the line gear which will more than make up for any racial flaws you have as taru or any other race. Its all in the equipment and how you use your ranger.

So basicly are taru rangers kinda forced into chosing nin as their sub?(not that I mind, I was planning on that anyway)

Also, should taru focus more on str then agi to make up for the really crappy str?

NIN is arguably the best subjob for RNG anyway considering you can dual weild the +10 accuracy daggers and you can avoid hits when you pull hate with Utsusemi.

Rangers shouldn't get hit with good tanking, and Utsusemi nullifies tha fear anyway.

Low STR? Seriously people, Racial differences aren't all that great when it comes to stats non hp/mp. Its like what Greysenn said.

You're going to get wrecked no matter what hits you, whatever race you are. Our defense itself isn't that bad, but our defensive skills are... how shall I say.. nonexistant.

Pick whatever sub you want to as well. /war, /nin and /sam all have their argueable benefits. I personally don't care much for ninja, but thats just me.
