Bow vs Gun:Are guns worth it?

Okay, I am a LV37 RNG now, what I'm using now are these:

Great Bow+1 & Horn Arrows

DMG:44+17 = 51 DMG.

Now, Serpentine gun + Bullet
25+46 = 71 DMG

The thing is, Bullets cost 7000G per 99, but you won't use as much since guns fire alot slower than a bow.

Averaging 75 DMG with arrows, and 90-100 with Bard +ATTK song.

So, opinions? < I need to up marksmanship, should be NP with a Power Crossbow + normal crossbow bolts >

55+24 = 79 DMG

Money wise, i think you are much better off with bows. Even at 50, where you get the musketeer gun and silver bullets, that is 34+81 = 115 dam (822 delay) while war bow and scorpion arrows are 66+24 = 90 dam (614 delay). Silver bullets go for 8-9k for 99 and scorpion arrows are about 2k for 99.

Yeah, bows are the way to go.

I made a party yesterday it was sick:
BLM BLM WHM RNG BRD NIN

With BRD song & Mithkabobs i was doing 135 dmg a pop on crawlers.

14,000 EXP in 4 hours. PT started at 1:50 AM, ended at 5:50 AM.

After we hit 42, we started killing flies....

Barrage did 554 dmg to one.

The Ninja had a tough time getting it off me needless to say ^^

Oh and yes I take your advice... I used 635 arrows in those 4 hours..

635 arrows @ 1k per stack, = 6,350 G spent.
GUN would be maybe ~400 bullets = 28,000 G

Even though my rng is far from lvl 50, I've heard that at 50, is where the difference between guns and bows really change. I heard that hellfire and silver bullets, combined with a ws does insane dmg, but I've never seen it myself.

According to my knowledge, gun is not affected by your STR stat, therefore race wouldn't matter... am I correct here? Anyhow, here's my observations on the weapons past moongate in RoMaeve.

Day1:

Hume RNG74, from what I saw on the outside (feels discourteous to scan party members) he was loaded, as most rangers are at this level. Using gun, he consistently dealt 650~900 damage with his heavy shot WS, whereas Slugshot did 1200 and barrage did ranging from 1000~1400, normal shots did around 140~190

Day2:

Taru RNG73, this guy is a famous figure on my server as one of the richest bastards in the game. My LS member checked him and told me he was absolutely loaded. Using bow, his 225 WS damage ranged about the same, normal shots a little bit less, but his sidewinder only did 1000 (less than 1100) and barrage ranged from 500~600.

Evidently, the low taru STR effect on bow damage takes a large toll on multiple damage attacks. If it were elv, I suppose the difference would have been much smaller. I personally don't know that much about RNG, however, I'm just posting my observations. From what I have, though, I hypothesize that gun removes the low STR handicap from races like taru and mithra, whereas elv can afford to use bow more without as much of a penalty.

I think that once you can use Silver Bullets, guns pull ahead.

Taking the numbers given at 90 dmg for bow+arrow vs 115 for gun+s.bullet, if you look at the damage of a connected barrage, that's 450dmg vs 575dmg.
