[Myth]

HI guys, ive wanted to be a ranger since i started playing and finally im but a few lvls to getting there, ive prepared myself well and farmed my backside off to make as much gil as possible, plus a LL drop ^^ so i have around 400k ready for when i start RNG.
So the qeustion i pose to you all is this:-

What equipment should i buy from the lowly lvl 1 all the way to around lvl 30?

ps im going to be subbing NIN, so pls take this into considertaion aswell, thanks ^^

This is quite the question to ask, buddy

But, here it goes.

Just buy the body armor that gives the best defense. Until later in the game, there is no body equipment that gives added agility or ranged accuracy that a ranger can use (aside from tunics)

Use a Royal Footman's bandanna from lv 10 until lv 24 (This is when you can switch to Emperor's Hairpin if you wish)

Foot wise, go with things such as Mage's Sandels and Royal Footman's Clogs, anything that adds Agility (Leaping Boots, winged boots, strider boots are also excellent choices)

Hand wise, nothing good. I'm at lv 47 and i'm just using combat caster's mits (+5atk)

neck, ranger's necklace at lv 14. Until then, Feather Gorget +1 adds some ranged accuracy I believe.

Always get +1 long bows (hunter's bow at lv 12 until lv 16)

I used a beestinger until lv 28 (archer knife). but since you are a taru, this will probably deal 0 damage a lot of the time when fightin ITs. Go with an axe of some sort, or a higher damage dagger until archery knife is available.

pantswise, the best thing going for you is a lvl 24 ( i think) martial slacks, which adds 2 agility.

Belt wise, lv 30 grants you Mercenary Captain's Belt (+1agi)

Back ~ Nomad's mantle at lv 24 adds 1 agility point.

Earrings, lv 35 get Drone Earrings (+3 agi each)

Rings, always get +1 Rngacc increasing rings. Such at bone ring +1 at lv 16.

I think that pretty much covers it.

Il try to get the Leping boots drop again, last time i got it within half an hour lol, though i suspect next time i shall not be so lucky.

rangers cost too much money >< for some reason warbow +1 jumped from 70k to 120k on my server. so i put the one i bought for 50k up for 120k ^^. if it doesnt sell ima continue. but back to the question. FeralisCallidus did a good job telling you what you needed but for pants and boots id recommend bastokan or republic stuff. they are worth it if your city owns in conquest.

Lol, dont worry yourselves over it, i limited it to 30 for the reasons of practicality, i mean if you really want to u can detail all the equipment i should use until lvl 75..... if you'd like:sweat:

I listed the earrings because those are really the only earrings you will ever get. If I listed nothing, he would have asked 'What about earrings?' =P

Don't forget at 43 there is a nice belt, swordsman belt that adds +10 attack. Think that is probably better than the merc captains belt.

that belt is useless -- Attack + doesnt do anything for a ranger .. you need Ranged Attack +

Gloves

+attack gloves(and +attack things in general) are pretty much worthless to a rng, as posted above use +ranged attack.
However, it is true that a lot of gloves suck, so i recommend a pair of scentless armets which give about +5 evasion, which is handy when the tank loses aggro and before you get blink if you sub nin. I think they can be quested for but i bought a pair for 3k on my server. Hope this helps

Seeing as you're a Tarutaru, you've lucked out on the "no good ranger gloves" problem. At level 27, your RSE gloves are 6 defense +12 hp +3 str. I made sure I had these when I turned 27.
