blm/ranger who is king of dmg

I'll tell ya a few things :spin:

1. rangers are the king of damage in the game

2. Thieves come in second

3. Blackmage third, I believe (or it may be thief, not absolutely sure)

rangers cost more than blackmages.

Rangers have scan ability, no regen time for MP and the such, nifty abilities, sidewinder which can deal 500-4000 damage. However, rangers can miss more than blackmages, and absolutely will - nukes generally wont miss.

FeralisCallidus, your placing of damage-doers in game is inaccurate.

Black mages can do more damage with a single spell than a ranger can do with a single shot (at my level anyway, but it fluctutates). However blm can only cast a few of those spells before running out of MP.
In my set PT, our blm (chronostrife) can get 200-250ish for fire2/blizzard2.
When I'm using decent arrow I get 100-120 per arrow.

So overall rng does most damage, but in 1 go, blm can get more off.

true, but blm's are far from cheap, spells cost a massive amount.
