RNG/DRK.. Just asking for hate?

So being the most damaging class behind BLM, I was wondering just how much more powerful the RNG would be subbed w/ DRK. Does the big +str bonus help out a ranger in a benificial way, or is the larger +agi/+dex from a ninja or theif better?

I would like an answer from someone who has played a ranger, or has atleast grouped with both kinds. Obviously I'm going to try both RNG/DRK and RNG/NIN, but I'm curious to know if a DRK is woth the sub.

Also, if DRK is much more damaging, could this actually be a bad thing? Since /DRK would have much lower defence then other subs?

Xeri hits XXX for ungodly xxx damage
XXX gets pissed, runs up to Xeri and slashes her for ungoldy xxx damage.
Xeri has been defeted by xxx.

DRK sub doesn't not help the damage that much, because...

- Last Resort is inferior to Warrior's Berserk
- Darkness doesn't work with range attacks
- The STR difference vs a WAR is insignificant.

Just like it was said in the other threads, WAR, NIN, or SAM are the only good subs for RNG, IMO.
