very confuse about Str Dex Agi for Ranger

i got few questions for ranger . so here we go.

-str- add damage to range attack?
-dex- Avoid attack only?? or add damage also??
-agi- i know this is for the accuracy.

i dont think str and dex will both add damage rite? so must one str or dex. if it is str and what dex do for ranger..

my friend is yelling behind me saying "dex" will add damage and he is really annoyin. so pls help us clear this up asap. so he can shup up and stop buggin me. thanks in advance.

DEX doesn't effect attack power in anyway (except for in THF's backstab ability, probably some others too) DEX only effects the accuracy of your melee weapon(s) (how often they hit)

STR does effect the attack power of your range attacks (and also your melee attacks).

AGI effects the accuracy of your range attacks.

DEX will not add damage...

There are two other stats rangers should be aware of, and they are (in JP anyway) ”ò–½ and ”ò?U range acc. and range atk. respectively. (Ranger's necklace has range acc+5 range atk+5)

I've heard that Dex also increases the rate of critical hits you do. Don't know if this also applies to ranged attacks. Someone who really knows please clarify.
