1HS early on?

ok im gonna start out WAR/MONK then do PLA/WAR. now i heard and i know that PLA are the best with 1hand swords. i was thinking about using a 2 hand sword for my WAR eary i the game, but if i want to be a PLA should i start early lvling up my 1 handsword for my PLA later in the game???:dead:

As long as you use both at a moderately even and alternate rate, you should be able to raise each one a fair amount...

stil, if push comes to shove, you can always join a Skill Up PT and get some loot and level those lower echelon weapons...

Personally I pretty much stopped using 2-handed swords long ago. I like using just the 1-handed sword. Since I can use a shield, I can use shield bash, increase my defense, and block occasionally. As a warrior I'd suggest you train up your 1-handed sword skill along with 2-handed. Depending on the situation each weapon type can be better suited for that particular party.

Are paladins asked to use spear and 2h Sword a lot in partys?

its easy to get your 1h and 2h abilities to their max, so dont worry about using one type now and not being able to use a different type later. When my 1h was at 27, i switched to a 2h sword. just recently i switched back to a 1h, and my 2h skill was 60, and i quickly caught up to 60 with 1h, and then passed it up. Didnt even take a day.

With hindsight being 20/20, I would recommend at each new level capping any 2h weapons you want to be proficietn with and then work on 1h weapons. The reason for this is that 1h weapons generally swing faster so they will skill up quickly. I have a great axe I want to use, it's my first greataxe and I am lvl 18......it's torture trying to skill it up with the 500+ delay it has.....and the 30 damage doesn't do much to offset that since in a pt I am hitting for 0 and 1 a great deal.

I'm embarrassed to use it, so I don't know when I'll manage to level it up.......
