  • Level 30 Pld Armor... Mix and Match?

I plan to become a pld as soon as I can get the job but I am just wondering once I hit 30, do I get the eisens, or the centurions? I plan on just doing xp pt's but I don't wanna have to buy a lot of expensive gear... any insight? which parts I should mix and match?

Most all Paladin Go with the Eisengear. U get a lot of extra VIT points....A LOT.

    No contest here...go Eisen.

I do believe the Eisen is cheaper than the Centurions. So, if your going for cheap go Eisen. Also, you should take up a craft or go NM Hunting. Paladin isn't exactly "cheap". If your good at it then you'll need some decent equip. Such as Iron Musketeers Armor, its a bundle and I remember when I had to get it the main peices are in the 50k range and the little parts are in the 20ks. Im having trouble at level 52 looking for some gil for a Ribbon that just came out, it has the +2 enmity and the +15 MP, its like 500k which is insane for that but, hell, im not saying whipe the floor with 500k buying one item, make you money count and dont buy useless items just to see how you look in it, trust me, I must of spent 400k in armor I'll never use. IF you don't have alot of money for gear, use food, the +VIT of Shallops Tropicale is well worth the gil, last for 3hrs. But, thats 5k, which is about 1/2 of a stack of Boiled crab. Boiled Crab is recommended. Well good luck.

Yeah, later in game PLD gets pricey....i think lvl 50 is gonna be worst so far for me.

              I need to buy:
              I.M. Body
              I.M. Legs
              T.K. Shield
              T.M. Espadon
              Raise
              Cure IV
              Protect III

Thats prolly about 300k or more...it sucks...im NM hunting now....

In terms of overall price, Paladin is relatively one of the least expensive jobs in correlation to how effective you can be at your job.

Thankfully, you can sell back your armor; mages can't exactly sell those expensive scrolls back.

I'd go with the Eisen set, but as a Paladin don't skimp on armor if you can avoid skimping. Every bit of DEF and VIT (and other useful stats) that you can get helps that much more in helping you do your job more effectively.

You don't have to worry about purchasing Shell III until level 60.

Eisen is great for PLD. It didn't exist back when I was Lv. 30 but I got to use it for the Lv. 30 cap Promys and it worked very well. If you are looking for more flexible (i.e. can use with other Lv.30 jobs) gear then I would say to go with centurion / r. squires and maybe some RSE. My set of Lv.30 gear right now looks like this:

                    Main: Centurion's Sword
                    Sub: Bastokan Targe
                    Ammo: Happy Egg
                    Head: Centurion's Mask
                    Neck: Tiger Stole
                    Ears: Bone Earring +1 (x2)
                    Body: Centurion's Scale Mail
                    Hands: RSE
Rings: Sandorian Ring & Windurstian Ring
                    Back: Wolf Mantle +1
                    Waist: Warrior's Belt +1
                    Legs: Centurion's Cuisses
                    Feet: RSE

Ya that was gonna be my next question:

For Gloves on a Elvaan Paly, would RSE Gloves really be beneficial? I mean I'd say that increase in MP might come in handy even in conjunction with Eisens/Kampf.....

no cos at those lvls you need to relye more on your DEF and VIT then MP and w.e. RSE has very bad defense. But if you balance it with the right equips it shouldnt hurt but, i wouldnt recomend it.

Not a million fights could make me hate you, you’re invincible.

can I get a second opinion from an Elvaan paly?

I used the Elvaan RSE Gloves for a decent amount of time. The DEF loss isn't that noticeable and you gain a substantial +24 MP which is invaluable to holding and keeping hate at those lower levels as an Elvaan PLD.

You could even go one step further and have equipment swapping macros that allowed you to wear 2 Electrum/Astral Rings at start of fight and macro in something with more DEF/VIT once you've expended your MP that you gained from wearing the +MP equipment.

                            Or something along those lines.

                              DualAura,

The Elvaan RSE Gauntlets are very good imo. Personally, I use them with my Lv. 30 and Lv. 40 cap armor sets, though I know some Elvaan PLDs that even use them up to Lv.50 cap. The +MP and + Dex is a good trade off for a few less point of Def for an Elvaan PLD.
