Life Belt: Can it wait?

I understand Life Belt is an important piece of equipment for us because it assits our TP gain greatly. But is it really necessary to have it promptly at level 48? Spirits Within is not until level 55, so what would be the use of having it sooner?

just because you don't have a major TP bases weapon skill @ 48 doesn't mean its useless.

hitting the mob plays a large role in keeping hate. not only does the additional damage help (on top of cure, and job abilities) it is believed by many that with every hit the enmity+ gear will be kicking in more often.

now although at level 50 you will not have AF enimity+, there are many other items that give the useful stat, most notably the mermaid ring.

It just really depends on where you are leveling. I personally didn't see a use for this belt until the Torama's in Ozo. But every since then, I saw the value in being able to connect hits more often, so I actually switched to accuracy items on my neck too over vit.

But of course, if you find yourself face to face with a hard and fast hitter, Then I immediately swap to my trusty Warrior Belt +1, +2 vit earring, and +1 Vit Neck piece.

Just gotta roll with it.

I got mine at lvl 48, just felt like getting it. The Acc+10 seems to help a lot with connecting hits and I can even finish a SkillChain every couple of battles, which is good for hate. I try not to stall on getting gear since the better gear I have the better PLD I'll be and the faster I'll lvl too since I can survive longer! Moral is Farm for about 4 hours, buy the belt, won't take that long, only 50-60K on Siren.

I say it depends on your race. I have never use it in an XP PT, as I rather wear my RSE belt. This might change at lvl 66 if I am included in a lvl 3 SC, but the RNG in my SP says that wont be necessary, as he and the THF can do it by themselves(I thought you needed 3 WS to get a lvl 3 SC, kupo? o_O?).

As of now I only use it in in Skill up PT's.

I noticed myself hitting the beetles in Garliage better with the Life belt than without it when I got to 48. But to me, it really depends, since in our server (Melrose) I bought mine for 70k, so I don't know how much it is now (maybe less I dunno). But I had a PLD friend that said he bought the RSE belt instead of the Life belt (at 50) and he said he doesn't notice anything different (and he got to 61 before he quit). So I dunno, it's more or less up to you really, if you feel that you can't hit for squat, try and get the Life belt, see if it gives you a dramatic change and if it doesn't, the try to look for another alternative for a belt.

I was wondering about the life belt also. Now should I just bring both the life belt and the warrior's belt +1 with me to parties? Depending how hard the mob hits, should I just switch to which belt would be better for that situation? +3 VIT to me sounds like its a lot to give up, but maybe i'm wrong.

Food can replace 2 of your lost VIT, landing hits with Life Belt will help you keep hate too, what's the point of having +VIT when the mobs not beating on you?

Lifebelt is by all accounts the best choice if the mob is not hitting you for high numbers because landing more hits for more damage will help you hold aggro much than going a full defensive setup (considering melees will land hard and powerful hits on mobs most of the time that aren't doing high damage to you).

I don't bother with a Life Belt.
Hume have good enough accuracy for me to stick with Royak Knight's Belt +1

That gives me DEX+2 and then with other equipment I have a total of DEX+6 which is a good enough boost for me.
I haven't had much trouble in getting TP or holding hate without it.

Cool, that's the same thing that my friend told me when he got to 61 and is wearing the HUME RSE belt. But again, it really all depends on the player. If you feel that you can't hit anything, even with +8 dex (hypothetically), then go for the Life belt. If you don't see any difference and you are hitting the mobs no problem without it, look for an alternative (RSE Belts, RKB +1's or whatever ).

I'm getting mines when I get level 50 because that will slow me down with my leveling. I made a chart which days I would get levels at.

Lifebelt isn't really necessary, at least not until after 60.

If you are an Elvaan, pre-50 is ideal for life belt since our accuracy is damn low.
