Earring advice please

Im a lvl 30 Glaka Pld.

My gear is:

1 Merc earring (+2Vit)
2 Astral Rings (25hp->25MP ea)
RSE Boots (+12MP)
RSE Gloves (+32MP)
Holy Phial (+9MP)
with Cent on the rest.

Defense with P2 is 188. With Sentinel about 211(ish).
My current MP total is 156.

Im trying to decide what to get for 2nd earring. Magicians earring (+30MP) has been unavaialbe on the AH for a while...which would be my first choice. So im boucing between getting another Merc Earring...or somethign else. Now I see alot of PLD's with +AGI earrings...and I have yet to subscribe to that theory or not. Also, will a 2nd Merc earring stack? Im still unsure about that as well. My current AGI is +5, with Vit being +6.

So im wondering what you insight some of you Seasoned pld's can give me.

Merc earrings are flagged "rare" so that mean you can only have 1. Also, don't get magician earrings, those bcnm 30 earrings effect only kick in when you have specific subjob. In the case of the magician earring, I believe you need summoner subjob for the 30 mp to kick in.

As for what earring to use, since you are a galka, I would suggest mp earrings. Sorry name escapes me at the moment.

Thanks for the info. I thougth if they were flagged "ex" it meant you could only use one.

Im shopping for a good MP earring...but 40k for +4mp....steep.

EX = you cannot trade it or sell it to anyone else
RARE = you can only have one

I went with one Drone to go with my one Merc. Until i get hihger level and can grab a better piece.

I'm level 65 and I still use Drone Earring and Merc. Earring. It's very hard to find a purchaseable earring that is better than this combo.

The lv72 Knight's Earring is obviously a better earring, but that's about the only earring I can think of that might replace this combo and it's a Rare/Ex reward from the 5 Arc Angel BC fight, so that's quite a long ways off, even for me. :sweat:

Speaking of earings, what do u think of pegion earings and HP equips for PLD post 60? worth it? or better of have Drone and Vit + 2 earing?.

+30MP earring is for SMN sub. The +5 elemental magic is for BLM sub.

Gad, go with the VIT+2 earring. If you were a taru, then I'd worry about the HP+ earring.

What are the stats on those? +20 hp on each? So in total +40 hp

What's 40hp? Like ONE hit from an IT mob? Seems pretty useless to me, unless they have other stats.

Buy the Drone Earrings, a fraction of the price.. and i gaurantee the extra AGI helps you Parry/Block that extra attack to get the +40hp you'd invest to get from Pidgeon.

I really think those are terrible earrings.
