Outtanked by a .... thief?

Last night while going for Titan Prime (my first) we had the following configuration: WHM, BLM, RDM, BRD, THF and PLD.
We entered the fight and everything went well until I died at about 75%, mostly due to our inexperience in prime fights. I figured everything was lost but strangely enough our THF kept pretty good aggro considering the lack of sneak and self heals. While I was waiting for weakness to wear off it did seem to me as if he was getting hit for less than I was and Titan seemed to miss a lot. As my weakness wore off he was going down to red so I 2 houred to get hate back and we ended up winning. After the fight was over, while reading the log he noticed he even blocked the 2 hours with his shield ><.

Cheers to Holt! He's been bragging about that shield block (and the .5 points it gave him) ever since.

Hehe, yeah. He did a good job there and saved the day. We went on to try Shiva the day after but because of fame problems we didn't start until like midnight. By then we were all tired and things went horribly the 1st time around. I died and raised but before weakness wore off everyone else did too so I ended up dying twice . The second time around things went much more smoothly. I did die a third time while Shiva had like 3% HP left but oh well. Then, last night we tried Titan again, this time with 5 mages and me. We pwned Titan in about half the time it took us on our first try with no deaths. Next in my list is Garuda, but I hear its a pain to get to and she likes to heal :spin:

THF's ability to tank is so underestimated that most ppl who hear the words "THF" "tank" will probably laugh.

however, THF has the highest rating in evasion, and when boosted by equipments, evades more hits than NIN. Manbo songs will help a lot, too.

w/ some mobs, it's actually better that THF tanks than PLD does, believe or not. (if the certain criterias r met, like proper gears on hand, BRD's Mabo songs r kinda must-have, etc.) but of course, Sneak and Trick will be killed, too, so not many even consider doing that.
