Friend of mine had really bad luck in Beadeaux, 3 trips I think with no key, around 15 total hours so far. I had bad luck getting a Kuftal Coffer key, camped at 60 with 3 people for a total of 7 hours. The drops really are random anywhere you go. Anyone who says such and such key is common needs to be shot. All keys are pretty well the same commonality, it basically depends if the random number generator feels like being friendly or not. Hell people complained about Castle Oztroja keys, I saw 4 drop in 45 minutes, and only needed 3.

well, one of the reasons why he had to make 20 tours was that he is a born-loser-of-the-lot. for some uncertain reasons, he almost always loses, while he's w/ a God when he lots for crystals lol.Originally posted by PaladinsArc
Wow. I didn't think it could get that bad. I went again back to Beadeaux to get 3 WHM's their keys. We got 3 keys in 4 hours... so I guess I went @ a bad time. I'm doing good though, going for Zvahl on Thursday, and killing the 2 NMs on Saturday. I'll be happy once this week is over.
also, Beadeaux key was undoubtedly the hardest one to get back when lvl 60 was the cap. crappy drop rate, too many ppl in need of one, and the mob was really strong coz 60 was the cap, thus took longer to kill. these days, those mobs r easy like pancakes if we have a ton of 70+ players in a party/alliance.
on the other hand, keys for Castle Oz and Davoi (MonasticCav) were easier to get, because Davoi was the very popular place, if not the only, for leveling for 57-60, and we got more drop than party members could carry.
likewise, for Castle Oz, many ppl went there to get a Raise II scroll, dropped by Yagudo High Priest, as it was the only way to obtain it back then. not to mention it used to sell for a million gils at AH. and the drop rate was even crappier than keys, so too many keys against demands.
well, just some history class here, but anyways, good luck w/ the rest of AF pieces.
