I've seen this many times around Jeuno with Pallys in AF or above gear having a polearm on their back but a shield on their arm at the same time. I was wondering how the heck are they doing that?

Wow does this really work? I recall seeing some of these in AH... I can really wear a shield with these spears? o_OOriginally posted by Luminaz
There is 1 handed polearms in the game...look for those spark spears/lance/fork whereby u can equip battery as sub. However u can change the sub to shield instead of batteryI believe in karma. Anyone I treat badly probably deserved it.

Yes this does work for those of you who don't want to look elsewhere.....How this works is: There are 2 polearms that this is possible with - Spark Spear(25dmg) Spark Trident(61dmg) (cannot use the Spark Lance due to Drg Only) The first is lvl 14 and the second is lvl 55 so basically a real big difference. To Equip you must first Equip the Polearm then you can equip the shield if you have the shield arleady equiped it will dissapear and you must just re-equip it. Level 56 Paladins get Penta Thrust so basically your skill in this weapon will be drastically less then say that of a dragoon and also less that a samurai. Maybe with some accuracy gear this combination at higher levels can dish out some decent damage for a paladin in comparison to the crappy damage we usually do in relation to the pure damage jobs. Thats my 2 gil.

Also another thing (have not tried this but it should work) first you need to be DRG/NIN, then equip eather spark spear or trident, then equip a sword in the other hand instead of a shield-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kain (FFIV): I am aware of my actions, but can do nothing about them.
