Bside - Daigoro help with a high lvl pally question!

Hey there, i was wondering if anyone has any experience using the Avengers Earrings, they give +1 to counterattack and are equippable by all classes. I have the 500K i would need to buy 2 of em but im not sure if they are worth it.

My question is A do these allow you to counterattack and B how well do they work, are they worth the 250K?

When I originally saw them, I thought it would only work with monk, since they have counterattack. Supposing they did work, I would then ask how much it would help you. I don't remember the last time I did over 20 damage(excluding criticals and WS's). Which means that in a given fight, you would most likely do like 30 more damage. Personally, I think three are better things to spend your money on. If you're looking for things to spend money on ... buy some nice food. I hear tortillas and crab related food are good for paladins. Otherwise, just save your money. Once you get to 50+ some really expensive equipment becomes available.

Invest the gil in blacksmith. You will be high enough to craft your equipment and make money.

A - yes, even thoguh ur main or sub job don't have a counterattack ability, wearing them allows u to perform counterattack. (this could have been changed in previous patches, though. the last time i confirmed this was more than a half year ago.)

B - imo, they don't work well enough to be worth 250k. the chance of counterattacking is really minimal. maybe once in a battle, could be once in a couple of battles. and i don't see it worth sacrificing other stat bonuses u can have w/ other earrings.

maybe useful when u farm some gils killing mobs, since the battle may become a little easier, but i wouldn't get it.

I'm currently using Dodge Earrings (evasion+3 each piece) and I plan to keep them for quite a while.

If you are a galka or elvaan I'd reccomend Bat earrings. +5 mp and +15 evasion when blinded.

Honestly, evasion sux in this game, so the earrings aren't worth it for the evasion. I've been blinded so techincally had +30 evasion and still took every hit unless I parried or shield blocked.

Also, some people say agility affects critical hits landed against you, I'm not too sure about this, but it does seem that i get crit'd freakin a lot. So it might be worth it to get the +3 agility earrings as well.
