I'm wondering what sword you two use. As two high level Japanese Paladins I respect your advice.

I have a bad case of buyers remorse about purchasing my Gluttony Sword, as I do with any item I buy that is expensive. I'm wondering what weapons you two use and what thought process you had while purchasing. Was money a concern? And lastly, do you think I made a bad decision? If not how long would you use a Gluttony Sword for?

I hate to call you guys out like this, but I'd really appreciate the feedback.

Right now I am using the Dainslaif (lvl 67 rare/ex) because...well its blue and it was free

Glutton is my preferred sword because of the VIT+7 but I sold mine at lvl 66 because the ƒGƒXƒpƒhƒ“ (espadon) had vit, mnd, atk+ and I could use the money glutton sold for to get a behemoth mant.

Glutton was on my list of things to purchase but since I kinda got screwed on the ƒP?[ƒjƒqƒV?[ƒ‹ƒh (koenig shield) guess i will wait a bit longer. That shield went from 1.5 mill > 600k then when I finally had time to wait for my ƒŠƒbƒ^?[ƒVƒ‹ƒg (ritter sheild) to sell it was back to 1mill

Vit+7 is a nice stat to have and there should be no regret in purchasing that sword. I think you will keep it for a long time as it really is still the best sword for PLD in the game today when it comes to PT play...imo.

i'm using Espadon right now, and was using Bastard Sword all the way from lvl 60.

i once had Gluttony but sold it, because of its too long delay. as an Elvaan pld, we do miss a lot of times. while +7 on VIT is tempting, we have to hit mobs to generate more hate, but w/ the delay almost equal to 1h axe, one miss could mean a lot.

pld of course isn't a damage dealer, but that doesn't mean we can miss all the way. we can't just ignore normal attacks and hate that generates. so i chose Espadon and Bastard rather than Gluttony, and probably won't get it in the future, either, other than cosmetic reason. but for u, hume pld, there's nothing wrong w/ Gluttony. u can keep using it until 75, or switch to Espadon if u feel like it. either way, there should be no problem.

fyi, Dainslaif that Daigoro is using has the same dmg and delay as Espadon, and its HP absorbing bonus only works like a joke in leveling parties... but as he said, it's got a nice color and shape, and best of all..., it's free. (Rare/EX item, drop from an NM in Quick Sand.) so if u don't mind how u look, Espadon will be a better choice. me? i care too much about my appearance and will go for it once i got it. :spin:


btw, Daigoro, ƒP?[ƒjƒqƒV?[ƒ‹ƒh costs only 600k in ur server? in fenrir, it still costs 2.2 million, and staying at that price for a while... ?R(;?L„t?M)ƒm?@and ƒŠƒbƒ^?[ƒV?[ƒ‹ƒh costs 1.25 mil... gotta farm some serious money for them. (;?L„t?¼)

I'm not sure the difference in delay (264 vs 295) is enough to make it that much harder to generate hate...but I was using that sword for lvl up PTs in the yokodama and pre-lvl 3 renkei days so it may be a bigger factor now.

wow, guess I shouldn't complain about the price I got Koenig Shield for then Have not looked at those shields this week but last I looked Ritter shield was 1mil (I paid 1.2 mil when I bought it at lvl 71, sold back for 1mil) and Koenig Shield was 900K (which is the price I paid).

Well Bside, I'm actually Elvaan like both of you guys. I appreciate both sides of your advice. I had wondered about the delay but I'm not so sure it's a big difference from Espadon. I still feel somewhat awkward about my purchase but I'll give it a spin in XP groups and see how it goes. I might sell it when I can use an Espadon or Dainslaif, I guess we'll see. ^^ Thanks for all the input.

I know that Skull of Gluttony drop Gluttony Sword. How (and/or) when does the Skull appear? In some forums, people say a quest triggers the Skull to appear; but in some other forums, people same the Skull appears every X hours.

So if Gluttony can only be acquired via quest, how do I do this quest?

Or, do I just need to camp at the site?

this is called "7 Sins" as the sksletons r named after the Seven Deadly Sins in the Bible. technically, it's not a quest, but many ppl often consider this as a quest.

anyways, in order to trigger them to spawn, u need to light up the Tallow Candles in Eldieme, by using Flints to them. appearantly, there r 7 of them, and u need to light up all within a short period of time (said to be 3-5 mins), or it'll be extinguished. when all 7 r lit, the Skulls spawn.

note that u won't be able to light up the Candles for 1 hour after the last Skull was killed or disappeared. however, if u fail to light up all 7 in a timely manner, and they get extinguished, u may light them up again after they r all extinguished to have Skulls spawned.
