PLD subs and weapons

I was just trying to figure out what subs would be a good combo for a PLD. Obviously I'm going to be a PLD/WAR because PTs are great, but what would be the next best thing to sub in order to help out the party but still be the tank? I was thinking WHM as I'm planning on being Hume. This sounds good, but do I have other choices?

I would also like to know what are the top three most useful weapons for a PLD. I'd definately using a 1h sword and shield, but I was thinking that I might need to switch the sword for something when subbing a WHM to raise my magical properties. Bottom line, what are the three top weapons for a PLD?

Um as a Hume you will probably want to stick with PLD/WAR unless you are screwin around then do what ya want. But a PLD/WHM mightnot work for a Hume like it does for Taru cause taru have alot more MP to keep the hate with there WHM sub.

For weapons i would say 1H+Shield and 2H sword. I would say concentrate on those 2, if you really want a 3rd go polearm, but ui dont think youll have time between lvls to lvl 3 weapons, specially if 2 are great.

PLD/WHM Taru isn't really a great tank; it's just that some taru PLD's sub WHM and join parties as a mage :sweat:

Weapons.. 1h and 2h sword. I know theres a reaaaaally nice 2h sword out in the weapons shop in Kazham that I spent a good 20 minutes drooling over. Tarus aren't tanks really... but a PLD/WHM Taru has enough MP to curaga and keep the hate.. but they'll need a WHM backing them to keep them alive ^^

If you're not partying you can be anything you want just for fun. Go do some whacky combinations and get a laugh out of it.

Well like I said in my first post, I'm definately being a PLD/WAR. There is no question about that. I'm just wondering what other subs would be good, like say the PT already had a designated tanker or two? I was thinking of subbing DRG also, just because it looks kinda cool and if there is already a PT tank, why not act as an attacker. Would this work out good, or am I dreaming.

One last thing...For my own reasons, I'm not ever being Taru Taru. I don't enjoy the idea of being a member of Windurst or being a magic casting shrimp. While they can be really powerful, no doubt, I like being the melee kinda guy, or tank in this case.

Don'r sub DRG.. only thing you get is jump *later superjump* but thats gets rid of hate.. you want to KEEP hate. And no wyvern seeing thats DRG 2h.

Technically for paladins there is no magic "3rd weapon" to use... Its either you use 1h and 2h swords or using your god awful polearm skill... (1h Skill is rated A 2h skill is rated B and Polearm is rated E - E is below average according to shadow-dragons.com) So in the long run Polearms are horrible for plds...

Hey you guys thanks a bunch. What would be the next best thing to sub with PLD instead of using WAR? I'm just wondering if there is a sub that you can fall back on if you don't need a PLD/WAR for your PT. Would a PLD/WHM be the next best, or mayber a PLD/THF to ensure the designated tanker at the time gets lots of hate.

The most popular answer to that question... is NOTHING... War is the only worthy subjob for paladin (save those taru taru who sub whm) But if you are soloing, find what you like... but if your doing parties please be a pld/war... and besides two pld/war are better than one cuz you never know what could go wrong...
