k well unlike most of you all i havent played the game yet
and i have been reaserching up on every thing i can find so i can be ready when it comes out

after looking over my fav race is
galkan and i want him to be a monk/pal
is that good or bad? i need some tips plz

also i have read on a few post about ppl talking about them getting some rings if they our a taru in windurst or something like that...can some one explain this to em also?

i will check this out tomarrow...sadly school is starting over again tomarrow

MNK/PAL is not good.

Most Advanced jobs do not do well as subs. The only one i can think of being SMN for its MP boost. (and RNG in some cases)

Paladin is a main job.

Mnk makes a decent stat boosting sub.

For MOST (if not all) Melee classes, WAR is the sub of choice.

MNK/WAR, PLD/WAR, DRK/WAR ect.

If you are wanting a melee class, most peopel start out as WAR subibng MNK to 30, when they can get the Advanced jobs, and then switch to said Melee advanced when it is aquired, subbing WAR. This form my personal experiance, and from what i have seen around the game.

Galka is a decent choice for PAL, but imo not the best for one reason.

1. They dont get the MP amounts that Elvaan and Humes get.

In most PTs, the PALs function as tanks and occasionally healers to gain hate. A Galka can only Cure once at low lvls, and use CureIV once at high lvls. The Hume can do Cure three times while can do CureIV twice.

Now for your choice of job. For Galka, MNK is good. Lots of HP. But a PAL sub for it isnt. You would start to get your spells way later, getting Cure at lvl 14 with MNK/PAL. Im not sure you would even get to use CureIII as a MNK/PAL because of lvl caps. But MNK/WAR is a very good Galka combo. High HP + the /WAR giving lots of STR and VIT.

Now for the ring question. Humes and Galka get a ring that boosts their stats a tiny amount if they start in Bastok. Its like +3 HP, +1 VIT, and +1 something else. Tarutarus and Mithra get a ring if they start in Windhurst, and Elvaan get a ring if they start in San'doria. (I might have mixed up the Elvaan and Mithra, so double check on this site.) The ring gives bonuses so tiny that it shouldn't play a major role in your decision of what town you start in. Decide instead on where your friends are, where your LS is, etc.

MP problem can be solved =)
I always bring 2 stack of pine apple and water crystal on body while PTing. ; )
But of course, if have Red Mage in team, then can even request for Refresh =D
