i'm a Taru Black mage in the Lvl 10-20 range rite now, i was wonderin if a Pal/Blm would be any good?

It's useless because becoming a PLD makes you a tank, and without taunt you can't tank well.
I suggest going with a BLM/WHM if you like black magic. RDM is also a viable option.
If you really want to be a PLD, train a WAR on the side to be useful. If you want to be a fully offensive melee class that uses black magic, DRK is your best option.FFXI -
or just eat some lucky charms..and everything will be all fine.....and no Blkmages totally contradict a paladin but any subjob would be fine except some of the more high lvled dependent ones like if u have to be lvl 60 to use a certain attack or skill.. Then best u take that as a main job...:pIf ur a lone taru who is seeking to...

PLD/BLM is only useful during some quests, that is if you are a lvl 34+ PLD/ 17 BLM. In PTs though, you'll only get an invite if you're using war sj, and in some rare occasions, whm sj.
