Hey, I have a good qustion that I need to ask

First of all, im a 57 Ninja, Ive bought every Ni spell but 1 I think (cant rmeber whitch one, I think its a Ele ninjitsu at the moment) and I actully enjoy Ninja tanking, I really do, I mean, when I fight a mob, he is faceing me, and if the mages keep my buffs up and all my enfeebleing ninjitsu sticks I can, quit literaly, not get hit for the entire duration of the fight, with the right people in the right Pt at the right time, I can go 6-7 fights withouts loseing shadows. But here is my big qustion

    Im running outa gil buying all these Ninja Tools ;_;

My Goal is to get my Nin as my second job to 75 (currently my Sam is @ 72)

But I really want to know whats the bare minimum I can do with Ninja tools and still be expable ._.?

NIN is not cheap, by any means.

Do not skimp on the Enfeebling spells. You WILL need every single one almost all the time. Elemental tools you can do without. Enmity and Evasion gear, you'll find are necessary as well as a certain amount of ACC to help hold hate. If you can't afford to play it, i suggest not playing it, as people will hold it against you if you just can't keep up with other NINs.

    Have fun.

ok, elementals lose their effectiveness at around.... 60. after that they just are pointless imo. so, from 60 on, the bare minimum i think you should have to get by as a tank and not as a lazy nin are the following.

      shihei
      shinobi tabi (or powders, whatever)
      sairai-ran
      kaginawa

jubaku is up to you. I find that rdm casting paralyze if more effcient and easier for you to manage. 4s cast time is a bitch. you lose 4-5s of attack for something that might get resisted and which a rdm can do easier.

the rest, is up to how you want to gear yourself. DD nins hold hate well, but take a bit more dmg due to lack of evasion.

evasion nins + enmity is how i went up till 74. i took very little damage, but my damage output wasnt the greatest. however, i had the luxury of getting to 75 before the enmity loss from utsusemi. so i was able to go full evasion, no enmity and just enfeeble/provoke/melee to secure hate until renkei.

anyhow, those 4 powders are imo, must have. rest, is how you like to play your nin.

Or you could just cast Jubaku first while the mob is being pulled in if you want to avoid that long cast time

I personally open up with Kura ni, gives me more time to voke faster at the start, as well as raise the chance of evading with an evasion set up. Next i'd do Hojo, then jubaku after second voke. This was for traditional exp setup.

I hate it when tanks aren't voking asap at the start of the fight, makes a big difference on the pt.

ya you can. more times than not your next pull is coming in faster than you can reapply utsu if needed, and cast jubaku.

not voking off the bat will cause the mob to wander most times. even if jubaku lands, it doesnt generate that much hate anyways.

again, up to the nin. i personally dispise all 4s ninjutsu. i rather, kurayami, voke, hojo, and begin whacking away. All that is done in about the same amount of time it would take you to cast jubaku.

Make your tools, instead of buying them, and you'll save alot when you get the skills high. Woodworking etc. for making Uchitake, which yield 33 per synth.

I agree that Jubaku becomes obsolete around 61 when your DD output increases quite a bit. Hojo and Kuriyami are very important however, and you shouldn't exp without them.

Ninja is a fun job, but you shouldn't rush it if you can't afford it. If you don't have the money for tools, that day you should make money instead of exping. With a 72 SAM you should be able to fund it without too much trouble. Ninja is much more fun when you are playing it right rather than just trying to squeak by.
