Ups and Downs?...

Ok.. so Im a HUGE retard with choosing jobs... and changing halfway to 75... and then wanting to be something completely different, and having to level a whole new subjob for it later on.

So my point is this: I am leveling ninja to 37 right now, no matter what I'm taking it to 37. Whether I stop or continue to be a ninja is a decision I've been having a HUGE struggle with... I love the idea of being a cool uber looking ninja... but I think I'd get bored with just spamming utsusemi and provoke in fights... I want something to DO. I wanna do more DMG.

So here's the scoop: In your own words, describe to me, and state what level you are as NIN, what you think is fun about your job. What keeps you interested, what your role is in the job.... What makes you like NIN so much that you stick with it?

I really like THF, but I also really like NIN (I think I like the gameplay of THF more than NIN, but rather like the look and style of NIN more than THF). Tell me about your life as a NIN, what you like, dislike, and can you hold your own (solo quests/smaller missions and stuff for noobs) while solo as NIN?

Im exhausted so im gonna keep it short. Dont play nin because you like how they look, bla bla etc. I play it because i enjoy being in good parties and fast xp, ninja does decent damage. But it is no means a damage dealing class in a party. The job is very expensive. If you dont like casting utsusemi and spamming ninjutsu, i dont reccomend playing nin, lol.

You mean we're not suppose to magic burst on the skillchains that we normally partake in? We don't make sure our debuffs stick? We don't switch out attack gear with evasion gear when we start taking a beating?

Well, for someone whos ASKING about your job and what you do, I tend to think you'd be REPLYING wrong... asshole.

I'm asking so I know what my role in parties is, what you do in high levels. What's fun to you, what's not. I'm not telling you whether or not I'm doing those things.

He was simply pointing out your ignorance to the Ninja job in general, if you've been playing Ninja for 28 levels now and all you do is spam utsusemi and provoke, maybe you just better stop at 37 and take another job to 75, we don't need another gimp ninja running around.

My nin is currently 64, but you can see my other job levels in sig.

What do I love about ninja? just the concentration factor, other jobs bore me so badly ( whm was getting dull until 66 ) and smn is just so fucking dull.

my war was 37 before I even started on nin, and I've levelled a few other jobs to 37.

Inside EXP parties its fun debuffing the monster, and doing such a good job as a taru ninja that I get complimented almost every party I exp with, not only for my tanking but my damage.

I use an attack build and can always be found exping with my RL friend who plays war ( previously 75 pld ), and one if not both of the bards in my ls around that level ( march, madrigal, 2xminuet is fun ), I have +68 attack, +10 str, +26 acc, +16 evasion.
It allows me to do comparable damage to a medium damage dealer, and helps with hate ( ever seen a ranger give up trying to pull hate off the ninja and end up having the war trick onto the ranger? - amazingly fun ).

I really enjoy being able to solo tough monsters, its one of the most fun things you can do.

you can sub a mage job and just go and exp solo for 1000-2000 exp per hour, which is a lot of fun.

You can solo a hell of a lot of NMs and kill them with small parties at higher levels ( you can solo behe, serket, etc. ).

You can farm certain gil NMs solo and make plenty of gil to support yourself at later levels.

The big difference in NM capability between a THF/NIN and a NIN/WAR is the ninja debuffs, ninja can slow, blind , paralyze and poison the monster, which allows you to solo harder monsters than thief would allow, and nin/war also has a pulling advantage with provoke, thief would have to use a throwing weapon or be in range for steal.

ninja is probably the most exciting and challenging jobs in the game. Seriously what job do you do more in? Melee just attack, use SC, and go afk and eat some donuts. Healer just cure whenever hp gets low. Nuker just nuke and burst. Paladin was fun to level but its not as challenging and exciting as NIN is in party.

there's alot more to being a healer than curing when hp gets low. you know that. just as ninjas do alot more than put up utsusemi and spam provoke. don't simplify healers dude, we keep you not dead.

THF doesn't use SATA?
RDM doesn't enfeeb/enhance/MB/cure?
And I agree with dirtyclown, as well.

Personally, I don't enjoy NIN, but I'm only 25. I do know that at higher levels they use the elemental wheel, provoke, MB, and alternate Utsu Ichi and Ni. I'd imagine they stay busy. Don't underestimate the work of other jobs, though.

I have plenty of respect for forum members, just very little for ignorant statements. Nothing personnal, but your 'summary' of the ninja job hit a nerve. I take pride in what my role is.

Lol... wow. If i were to be a ninja, my main goal would be to not be as bad of a dick as you guys are. I wanted your opinions on the job and what you think is fun about it, not to tell me what was wrong with my original statement.

I gave a general synopis of what I did as a ninja... sure I used kurayami, hyoton, raiton occasionally, but let's face it, bursts are hard to come by befoer level 30 because there's too many noobs. Was i simply meant was, all I see myself doing in the higher end of the game, 70+, is provoking HNM's, and kiting them around with utsusemi... which was exactly what my synopsis meant.

I didn't mean any disrespect to the ninja job, and asn't trying to point out that you guys do nothing. In fact, if anyone of you told me that ninja was the most complex job to play, I would have agreed, alongside a RDM.

Sorry you took it the wrong way, wasn't offending ninjas... why wuold I do that when Im considering to be one?... I can't say for certain having not experienced it yet, but I would say, yeah... thats probably how it is (but not kiting, thats just for KB I think). Everybody I know at that level says HNMs get real dull after a couple weeks, regardless of your job.

Ninja doesn't start till Utsusemi Ni. Those 12 - 37 levels are just to get you to practice Ichi timing so you can cast it without being interrupted.
