definately going to want to invest in arhats hands and feet. the evasion and enmity bonuses are very nice and you dont really need that +10 ranged accuracy or +25% movement speed in EXP :/
If one were to get their hands on a Shinobi Gi+1 (evasion+3), would that be wearable up until one can afford Scorp Harness, or are the more offensive body pieces better?JohNNYOriginally posted by Luminaire

Still a fairly lowbie ninja atm... but wanna get some insight as to what to expect for gear...
Would a good ninja tank sport Byrnie, Kote, Mermaids Ring, and all other gear related to either +emnity or +evasion?...
The way I see it... even with a shitload of evasion, compared to a reasonable amount (+30?), the miss ratio isn't going to be that much better, so might as well sacrafice that evasion for a byrnie, or kote right?★ RDM 51 / BLM 37 ★

Extremely impressive up there.
I'm saving for a Shinobi's Gi +1 at the moment, it should prove to be very much useful. My aim personally is to go after Byrnie since its at the moment, a lot more attainable in my position than the Harness. Arhats is definitely a must have too, but there are some things I'd like to try out...
Anyways, I wonder how fast Dual Wield for a Ninja can really get if equipped right..
Belt: Speed belt or Sarashi.
Body: AF
Legs: Relic.
Feet: Fuma Kyahan
As well as the most high level Dual Wield upgrade job trait.
Without the spells I wonder how fast it would be with those alone..
Maybe also..
Arm: Relic for the haste bonus.
If you can get them to work: Earrings: The 71 Dual Wield bonus one, and Shinobi's Earring.
Plus with or without the Arm or Earrings, add Haste and the Haste song in there..
Have any of you ever seen a Ninja go that fast in hitting speed before? I mean like..everything they can equip and be cast upon that speeds up hit speed.
Whatever the answer, it'd certainly be the fastest two sword wielder in the game.
^. You have now seen everything..
Name: Kiyotaru.
Ethinticity: Windurstian.
Home: Norg
Main job: Ninja/Warrior (Current level's 50-60)
Server:Ragnarok.
Linkshells: Come and go.

Can't use Sarashi for one thing. You have to be /NIN for it to activate, and you can't be /NIN if your main NINOriginally posted by Kiyosuki

Also, we've found out that there is a hard cap on weapon delay of 150. If you haste someone with Beestinger, they don't swing any faster.
We'll test it out soon, if there is a similar 300 delay cap on Dual-wield, that is that you can't swing two weapons faster then 300 delay.
But first we need to get the other 150 delay dagger for our RDM, or for me to reach 45 with my Ninja so I can get near 300 delay with two 190 delay katanas.

1) master gi is better IMO. 2) If you arent using Harness or Byrnie, you should be using AF Body.Originally posted by ZQM

I got my Byrnie last week, and Im loving it, cant wait till I get Arhats.
Im getting the Gloves & Legs, having trouble if I should give up the extra Agi on my AF Boots(which helps with the -3 on the Byrnie) for the Eva & Emnity on the Arhats Boots.
Also thinking of switching my Amemit Mantle for a Bat Cape or Nomad Mantle +1.-Ragnarok-

eww eww eww eww Arhat's Sune-Ate eww eww eww. fugliest boots around. AF > Fuma > those pieces of crap, imo. I always carry my Fuma's so I don't outrun my friends. >_<
Only Arhat's piece I wear is the Tekko and even then with some reservation. But the Dex+3 is kind of negligible.
As far as speed/haste items I managed to get a Shinobi Ring finally for kicks... figured while soloing I'll get to yellow hp and see if it helps... haven't really had a chance to try it out yet.
Manga btw how the hell did u swing 2 Kabutowari +1's... outside of being filthy rich. Must be some serious crafters on your server I managed to find 1 and haven't seen another for sale since... been about a month since i got it. I was really torn between getting a Sairen or not considering how rare it is but... at like 3k to 66 the D/delay/stat ratio just wasn't happening for me.

If you were to ask me, I'd recommend an accuracy/evasion build, and then once you get to arhat's set go for accu/ev/enmity build. Assuming you get the proper pieces, you'll be able to blink tank easily, and the right amount of accuracy will enable you to hold hate just fine, without any enmity. Up until the arhat's set, at 60 I wore...Originally posted by Drynavere

katanas - sairen, hocho
throwing - bailathorn
head - emp pin
neck - spirit torque (sometimes RK if I missed too much)
earrings - dodge
body - scorp harness
gloves - RK gloves
rings - snipers
back - bat cape
waist - life belt
legs - af
feet - fuma
Without THF or /THF, I never had a problem holding hate, the exceptions being warriors and samurais in enmity AF. If you play well enough it's definitely not out of the question to control hate vs RNG and sidewinder either. You don't need attack+ or enmity to hold hate, you just need to hit often and use a lot of ninjutsu. All that said, I would recommend some enmity. It just makes things easier on you and you can afford to slack more while tanking :p I have +7 enmity from 3 HQ arhat's pieces (hands/feet/legs), and I can sleepwalk through shadow tanking if the monsters aren't too difficult.
Also, you're right. Evasion will only help you so much, so if you can't get at least a good amount (35+ maybe?), you're probably better off going full attack gear if you can't get max evasion. But if you can do it, having an obscene amount of evasion makes blink-tanking a breeze. With the additional evasion on arhat's set, on certain monsters I stopped counting shadows all together, to the point where I can chain cast Ni without any problem.

Aye... I generally look toward an evasion approach, until about the +30 point... then Im gonna invest in accuracy gear... For instance, the survivals belt vs. life belt... Ill definatley be using a life belt. I'd rather spend 1 more shihei per battle and keep hate that much easier...
So my order for gear importance would be something like:
Evasion(to about 30-35), accuracy, atk where acc. can't be equipped.
Sound good?★ RDM 51 / BLM 37 ★

just hit 63!
hmmm..... now what to wear?
for me, i'll prob just get arthat's leg and feet.
swap arthat's leg with AF leg if nighttime
hand pieces i'll still use O-kote. the arthat's feet piece will offset the -5 evasion on 0-kote so i'll still be ok.. boosting attack, evasion, accu.

I was wondering if anyone could post what you look like in Byrnie? I've actually never seen it on Midgard... (how sad is that, a year of playing and never seen it). Because, looks are of course 90% of the game

Heres my current ninja build ( blm sub is for warp while crafting ).
Byrnie for those who want to see it.
Clicky
I have a net of +16 evasion.
Why?
A good portion of ninja hate comes from "building up hate", if you put a paladin vs a nin in a hate contest the paladin will win to start, give it a few minutes and nothing will turn it away from the ninja. Why?
Ninja hate is based on multiple things.
1. Provoke
2. Status Debuffs ( low hate )
3. Elemental Debuffs ( medium hate )
4. Damage
5. Casting Utsusemi.
Provoke, elemental debuffs only give so much, I'm at the point now where with a bard, my average swing damage is over 50 per swing.
A misunderstood part is that "not getting hit" is required to maintain your hate, while true to a certain extent, that doesnt mean ninjas should go nuts for evasion.
Casting utsusemi can actually turn a monster, and casting utsusemi will certainly give you more hate than a katana swing cycle ( dcreasing difference as you level, at some point swinging will give more hate than casting utsusemi ).
The more utsusemi you cast the more hate your generating, but if you get hit your going to lose that hate. Thats why ninjas with excessive evasion and not enough atk/acc have to spam their elemental wheel to keep hate.
Like anything in life, the key is balance. Going nuts for evasion, or attack, or accuracy or emnity is not going to provide the best solution.
somewhere between +10 and +30 evasion is the right amount for exp parties to keep you casting utsusemi but also allow you to damage to open another avenue of hate.
I'm going to purchase arhats sune-ate+1 and arhats hakama+1 when they come on the AH, I think arhats hakama+1 are better than AF legs and the only things I'd wear over that would be byakkos haidete and dusk trousers.
Once you get the kurayami ni and hojo ni debuffs you can take 10 or 15 off your evasion build, they are superb. Cast them at the start of every fight ( first ~10s ) without fail.
my net stats. ( the important ones )
attack+68
accuracy+23
evasion+16
If I get in the shit, I have a survival belt, a bat cape, and my AF gloves to quickly give me another +15 net evasion.
Every ninja needs an "oh shit" equipment macro, when you lose your blink and have to wait for timers, or your struggling to recast.55% Skill
