Ranger has wide scan, which is why when I do nin/rng or rng/nin I automaticly am the puller no matter if we have a nin/thf or otherwise.

The only reason nin/drg would be bad is cause the lack of the 2hr.

For some reason, I am less than shocked at your final decision. You could have saved everyone a lot of time by just going NIN/THF to begin with, so they would have known precisely what your mindset is.

But I want to bring up a little point on how this game functions. You see, parties in this game are like a body. Each person's an organ or body part. Each part relies equally on the other to support the body and allow it to function. If one part doesn't function properly, and doesn't help the body the whole thing collapses.

This wouldn't be a problem in most games, but you see in an online game, those other body parts are actual people. Its not just the experience of yourself thats on the line, its all the others as well. You depend on your party members, but your party members also depend on you. There is no lesser degree to this, its 50/50 all the time. The Paladin or Ninja relies on its Damage Dealer frontline buddies to come up with the best way to kill the enemy using all they're potential, and the Damage Dealer's rely on the tanker to do everything in his or her power to protect the party. And the frontline relies on the backline for varying reasons to keep them alive or empower them, and the backline relies on the frontline's endurance and dot(Damage over time) to keep them alive to continue doing they're thing.

In order for this to happen, a class has to be able to contribute to the party. Not just a little, but as much as possible. This is why some job combinations end up working out, and some don't. You see if your by yourself, it doesn't really matter. But in a game like this where your with real people, you're responsible for they're fun as well as them being responsible for your fun. If one decides to act in a way thats detrimental to the party, just so they can feel unique and have fun, its at the expense of the other players' fun. In the end, people will remember that and just forget you. This is a harsh truth all players playing this game have to come to terms with. Its not all about yourself and what you feel like. Especially in this game, where individual combat is extremely limited and you almost always have to be in a party to gain levels, or do quite a few other things. So that means just like anyone with a responsiblity, you have to make some sacrifices. Its not something players did, Square Enix has obviously intentionally encouraged this attitude as its pretty much the only way to survive leveling and some other events. I guess to encourage teamwork on unselfish thought. Thats a bit tough in an online RPG where most often players are essentially on there to try to stand out and be powerful, pure ego. But thats besides the point.

I know it sounds very restricted, but every combination has a variety of ways to play it so its pretty much like a separate class. Thf/War has a different style than Thf/Nin. Its really not bad at all if you really understand the mindset after a while. But some don't too. I know lots of players who left in the end because they just didn't feel like they were compatable with the way this game is. They had to have complete creativity over they're character. All MMORPG's have this problem where there really never is absolute creative freedom with characters, but this game maybe even more so than usual. But if you think about it, is perfect creativity even possible? Even if you have a whole bar filled with all sorts of drinks to mix, no matter what some drinks will mix wonderfully, and some will taste like crap.

The urge to want to be unique and one of a kind in an MMORPG is always strong, but like a "rebel without a cause", who decides to do the opposite of absolutely everything most others do, they end up missing the point completely. Being unique in this game means your skill, and how reliable you are. Thus, you are a "Strong organ". Thats the way uniqueness works in this game, not trying to make bad combinations work at others expense.

This is why while combinations will work, because the sub job augments the main job so that it creates something new and helpful. And why some job combo's don't, because the sub doesn't really mix with the main job at all, and is kind of just there.

You don't have to listen to me, but I think everyone playing this game should remember this.

Meaning, you tell us to shut the hell up when we offer advice on your job, albeit not put in a nice way, while you parade on your crappy job combination and get mad when we tell you to shut up. Read this thread from allakazham.com - it may offer you some insight, as every player that encounter's you in-game probably thinks you're a newb.

How selfish can you be? Don't you see the hypocracy? This is a team based game just like Baseball or any other sport. Some people play to win, some play to have fun, but almost no one intentionally handicaps themselves at the expense of the team. If they to- they aren't invited to the next game.

Ark doesn't know everything. PEOPLE PAY FOR THIS GAME. It's there money, they can do what they want with it. They bought it and pay monthly for it. So, right when they bought it they have to follow rules that say, "Only use this job with this subjob" or by 23425325 forum members? No.

I dont really care for the people that just dont flat out care though. I mean, being a whm/mnk is just lame. What...the..hell is a whm/mnk going to accomplish? Thf/brd is lame as well. I PTed with a fellow ..or ..not so fellow player that I once knew and she was a Thf/Brd using a dagger. I mention she was level 15?

There is really no point in subbing retarded things and making yourself stand out. Put in your search comment that you know where your doing and you DO have good equip. If you dont have good equip that will make you shine..or just not attack for 0 and miss, then do everyone a favor and leave.

Yes everyone is entitled to do what they want, since they are paying for it. I think warning a player about how the game works out isn't a bad thing at all. Its someone elses' complete choice to listen or not, but no one can deny that even if someone does pay for an online game, if you don't take heed to any of the social ways and standard methods them they'll just be wasting they're time. Then they'll really be losing they're money, since they won't progress very much. They may have payed for the game, but so have all the others players and you need them in order to play. Its a strange empass we all have to deal with.

I think when all players realize this, its that time when they have to decide weither the game is really for them or not, and choose to stay or give the way the game is played online a chance.

As for subbing anything.
Doing something just to be as different as you can, can really do more harm than good sometimes. If a guy wants to surf in shark infested waters, just because no one else wants to and has any reason to, and there's no one at the beach to watch him, what good is his bravado gonna be when he's shark bait?

It really is just like a bar. Some drinks mix well, and some mix like crap. Not everything can work.
