  • Sub for my ninja.

Well after my seeing I need to lv up my sub which is Ninja. So I decided to get my Ninja up to 30 before I retire it, but heres my problem..what do I sub my ninja?

    Ninja/Warrior
Well I remebered I like to tank when I was my Warrior but Blink tanking just dosen't feel right..haveing to cast utusemi over and over again. So knowing this is probably the best choice I decided this will be mine.

    Ninja/Theif
This has been the only thing I subbed from 1-18 now and it feels alright. The Dex and evasion help a bit. So I might jsut stay this if nothing else.

    Ninja/Monk
This 1 even i'm not sure about. The more attack power might help and hp but I really don't see a reason for this combo.

    Ninja/Samurai
I have been thinking about this combo since it works on thing that ninja have trouble in..WS. So this might be my choice when I hit 20.

Ninja/any other combo that ppl have used that work.

So tell me whats a good sub I can give my Ninja excluding Warrior.

Ninja/THF doesn't contribute really anything except evasion up at 20.. and if your Tanking you need /WAR anyways to keep hate.

War is really the best sub to use. You get I think 1, maybe 2 more Dex with THF sub, but less STR, so it's definitely not worth it for the stats..

/THF - gimped SATA lower STR higher EVA (for no reason since you're not tanking)

/SAM - more TP gain but lower STR than /WAR, may be viable combo after Lv 60 but will still be on the low end of the damage scale

/MNK - if you go H2H you would lose all of the "Dual Wield" bonuses we get, so why?

/RNG - ACC bonus is good if you plan on using shurikens which is more expensive then blink tanking

/WAR - berserk, defender, double attack, attack and defense bonuses, provoke, no other subjob can match this for a melee.

BTW, this topic has been discussed 100x times before.

If you have good equipment, Ninja can be a damage dealer at the lower levels, with a mix of tanking. I've stolen hate without using provoke from PLDs and WARs in the 20's. And no, they weren't noobs. Ninja CAN be a damage dealer if geared that way once you get Duel Wield.

Only major problem is fighting high def enemies like crabs, where we will tend to do 0 damage when they skill up. Though at those points any melee's damage really goes to crap.. 0 or 5 damage, doesn't really matter when you used to do 17 * 2 for duel wield or 40-50 if you have a big weapon.

a ninja can only be a viable damage dealer usually only at higher levels, for example, 65+ after they get their last dual wield enhancement. with the right gear, you can do more DOT than most melees, but we still lack WS damage. at lower levels, though, you won't do much damage because you'll mostly be fighting high def monsters such as crabs and beetles.

Blink-tanking is really quite fun. There's a certain glee you get when you know that you just beat a mob without ever taking a hit. Anyways, I just started partying with my ninja last night(I'm going /WAR), and I'm hooked already. Got from 12-15 in one night. If you can try to get in a party with another ninja at the same level, then just get some damage dealers and maybe a rdm or somebody with /whm for spot healing and you will never take damage. Me and my friend(also NIN/WAR) actually took out a VT by ourselves after we were done partying(got 200 xp!!). NIN is truly an amazing class, I think you will like it.

I'm tell you st8r out,a Nin/thf isn't as bad and sorry as it sounds >.>
                  lol

As I've had my thf jub for quite sometime but alos in the early lvls it is actully useless. But If you pimp your Nin out with eva & Dex stuff. just pray on your mad criticals,as I'm trying to increase my ratio of normal-to hard.Which is something to do. Try it out but it's not the best. The Sa is gimped down as well as the full SATA but it''s still fun, with the eva.But if you want to do this combo be ready for some insults but yea the Nin/war is pretty much well suited for nin's ( and for the cool Blink tanking)

As I was in party couple days ago i was in G tunnel with my lvl 40 Nin/Thf.I noticed we had a blink tank boy was i a happy nuker.

= If you like action just for for the Nin/war, if you want to be a sneak go for Nin/thf.I somewhat enjoy B tanking but i swap back and forth its up to you!

Other combos i've tired was Nin/Rdm or /whm...basllista..*Cough*

You can sub rng to and use a gun if you want to as well, pretty decent if you just taking it to 30, or if you have throwing capped you can throw shurikens, both keep you from blink tanking if you really hated.

And Vion not a flame or anything but what do you actually do in parties, I'm curious don't see any nin/thf over 30 usually unless farming...

                      I know it is rare.

It isn't the greatest but if you try hard you can bring something out in it,which i 'm planing on doing. :D but it's all good man. b/c someone doesn't use it doesn't mean its not good.. all the time.(depends who your talking about)

btw if you wish to go on or for me to show you something guud.Just send me a msg or something.WE'll have a nice conversation.

                        /groan

I hate blink tanking. Thankfully I've pt mainly w/pld and haven't really had to. I've been loading up on kabobs and my DOT has been pretty good. Only at 23 btw, but I'm dealing w/crabs on qufim and the only times I hit for 0 are when it buffs and the whole pt hits for 0.

50+ on {retsu}. It's been fun not having to tank.

That being said, /war is still the sub for you regardless of what u decide to do.
