  • Utsusemi overlapping questions

Hey, I have NIN at 16 now, and this has probably been answered before, but I've seen conflicting posts saying one thing or the other.

    My questions are this:

    1) Utsusemi: Ichi and Utsusemi: Ni stack from what I've read? If yes, which one gets used up first? The last one to get cast?

    2) Does either one overlap itself? IE: When you still have 1 or 2 shadows left on Utsusemi: Ichi, and you recast it before those shadows are used up, what happens? Do you get 3 new fresh shadows, or does it just have no effect and you still have 1 or 2 shadows left as before?

That's it I think for now.

Please clarify this for me? Thank you.

    :Ichi will overwrite :Ichi

    :Ni will overwrite :Ni

    :Ni will overwrite :Ichi

    :Ichi will not overwrite :Ni

And if you're overwriting with the same spell, you get a new set of shadows.

So if I have cast Ni, and have 1 shadow left on it, and cast Ichi, then nothing happens and I still only have 1 shadow left, right?

So you can't have both Ichi and Ni up at the same time, only one of them at a time, correct?

      Thanks for the info.

Correct. You'll have to manually cancel Ni to get Ichi to resolve. This is what makes blink tanking fun (and frustrating at times)
