i'm being told by some people that yagudo bead quest don't give us much fame as the zinc quest to raise norg fame. where you have to turn 120 zinc or 200 yagudo beads to earn enough fame for utsusemi. can anywayone confirm this?

Confirm? Nope, but the 120 ores or 200 yag necks are the numbers everyone throws around. At least there is plenty of ppl who got enough fame with the 120 ores...if thats any confirmation for you. ^^
ADDED: If it helps, I just got both scrolls. Did the zinc ore quest 32 times(128 ores), 2 extra just to be on the safe side.PLD 72 - WAR 35 - NIN 13 -THF 15

I feel that the bead quest is the better choice of the two because yags drop beads at a higher rate than worms drop zinc and it's easy to consistently find dc yags whereas worms jump in level more and you end up having to fight easies for a level or two before you can fight more evens or dcs, which will drop zincs more often. Haven't tried it, but I did zincs for three hours one night and completed it twice and the next night did yags for three hours and completed it five times.
Whether it's luck, randomality or my playing style I don't know, but I suggest the beads over the zincs (also making a good amount of XP and G off farming yags :D).There will be cake.Comment

I was able to get the Utsusemi quest when Rice Balls cost 150gil at Neptune Spire. I got the Tonko alot earlier, around 158gil for Rice Balls. Lost count of how many times i did the zinc ore and bead necklace quest, so i used the rice balls as the standard for checking fame."You were unable to buy the scorpion harness for 1,900,000 G." Damn some day =P

How can I get the yagudo necklace quest?
Talked to Nanaa Mihgo and all NPC's in that area
Nanaa Mihgo replies: "Can't you see I'm busy now? Give a girl a little brrreathing room, huh?"
I finished the quest where I had to go to bastok to value the stone and got 10g for it. Also did the Sharp stone quest.

What town do you do this quest in? and does it help your fame for that town also? and where do you do the quest for tonko and utsusemi? I just killed leeches and making my own powders and buy NIN gear and weapons plus doing ym airpass quest before i get NIN so can i do quest for the 2 scrolls before i get NIN also?

Actually you don't need to be to do these quests. If Nanaa isn't giving you the quest, chances are your Windurst fame isn't high enough, so try doing five or ten quests there.Originally posted by Nameless

when prices of riceballs cost about 156 or less it means you have enough fame to do quest. if they cost more than you'r enot ready yet.Comment

somewhat related...
i could've sworn i ran into an npc that sold zinc ores somewhere in bastok...anybody know anything about this? i might've been a bit out of it...spent like 5 hours running to and from the trader's house in bastok for gourmet quest
