Noob ninja questions

When i was level 30, dead set on becoming a summoner, i partied with a japanese team and one of the players happened to be a taru ninja/warrior. Now, after watching him preform im not so sure summoner is what i want to be, but a few comunication barriors left me with questions he didnt answer.
1: he was using a sword in one hand and a katana in the other, when i asked him about this he said it was because he wanted to use the swords weapon skills, is it possible to have two sets of weapon skills at the same time? and can you level both weapons up at once?
2: he assured me ninja/warrior was the way to go, but from my ls i have hear that ninja/dark knight does godly damage. i dont want to tank if im a ninja, so what should i sub?
3: is it a bad idea to use swords instead of katanas since katana WS are so crappy?

To answer your questions:-

1) You can only use 1 set of WS's at a time, this is set by your primary weapon. Only your primary weapon skill increases during combat.

2) You might get away with a sub other than war for a good part of your levels, but eventually it will become hard to get a PT. There are many many many threads dealing with this issue. In the ends though its up to you how you want to play your character.

3) Swords may seem attractive for the damage they have over Katana's but one thing to rember that ninja's have a lower level cap for sword, so you may be missing alot against IT mobs using them. I think in the end its better to use katana to help you land your hits, and its easy to chain WS's with them, dont know why so many people think they are hard to fit in.
