I think the quest is listed in another thread here. Just look for it. But from what i remember you have to have high enough fame for Tenshodo, then go to Norg and talk to Ryoma and he will give you the quest.

Ok let me explain my dilemma. I have excepted the quest from Larison(pardon the spelling) in Norg. He asks for you to retrieve an item deep within the grotto.
I am aware that there is other information about this quest out there but, it is extremly vague. I have found the Silver door and a treasure chest behind the door there yet, when I opened the chest all I received was a map of the grotto. Does this mean i have to complete the same quest over again by getting a new key or what. And is there anything else that I will need to do.

By the way, I am not doing this because I am quite lazy ^.~/
but to make it eaiser for other people to find when they wish to do the quest themselves and, don't have to do all of the research that I had to go through.

Ah wait, so you got enough fame to get the quest from the Tenshodo? If so, how did you do it? I'm still farming ore to get the faction I need myself.

To gain fame there you need to do quest from **NIN/SAM looking ppl* Such as the Mithra Beads quest in Windrust, the Bastok Zinc Ore quets and some in Jeuno in the actual residence of the Tenshodo area. There is one for San but I forget it as well and, also if you do quests in Norg yo get fame there too. ^.^

if you do the beads quest or the zinc quest before you ever get to norg or get ninja quest, will you still get fame for norg??

Yeah I'm doing the Shady Business quest over and over in Bastok to increase my Tenshodo fame, just curious as to how much you did to get the quest? Since I've heard conflicting tails of 20, and some of 30+ and would like to know where my stopping point should be since the difference between 20 to 30 times is a lot of time/money.

It took me around 30 quests that dealt with tenshodo faction to get enough fame.

Boy I wish I had read your post earlier Nemx I went and did 20 quests, travelled to norg only to find i couldn't get it ><. I even did 2 other quests there, one for invis and one for another 27 lvl scroll and still not enough! Now im kinda stuck in Norg, broke. Just so people know, there are two scroll quests in norg that require 10 rusty leggings for one and 10 rusty subligar for the other. I did the legging one already, thats the one you get the 27 lvl scroll for. I think my next plan is to try and somehow scrape together the gil to buy all the subligars in need and finish that quest in norg and see if i have enough fame then.

This is vague and will likely confuse you but head to the south east of Grotto, talk to the door until it says no more then trade one of those low level stealable silver beast plate things to it. Go through the door following the windy path around and keep walking straight on till you can drop (you will see Sea Monk/Kraken type enemies down there). Just follow on that path and you will reach a room with the ??? in it. Be carful though as this is another Kraken type monster in here along with some NPC called a coward or something.

It worked! I finally got my very own Ninja Blink Scroll!!
What Russta said is correct, its not a silver door, its the a regular looking door located on the edge of O-14 on grotto map No.1. Which takes you to grotto map No. 2. Can you believe when i did it, I snuck all the way out there only to find I had forgetten to take my silver beatcoin to use on the door! ><

Luckily though a high level thief was on his way there also and i ran though the door after he opened it!

This door you went through; was it the ornamented door?
I thought I was suppose to go through the silverbeastcoin door and as a result have died about 3 times (with silent oil) Who knew that even the crabs there will attack you.

Anyway if it is the Ornamented Door, do I have to have a high level THF open it for me?

P.S. This quest is a pain in the ass, I'm starting to think that Ninja isn't worth the:mad:

Trust me Biterman, I searched and searched using "Norg Quest" as my key words for the search. I eventually found your links in a different thread.




I finally got the scroll and I must say that Ninja is a very nice tank/back up tank if you are willing to spend the gil. Now all I need to do is complete those Goblin bag quests.. My inventory is waaaaay to full with those powders.
