  • Convince me not to use my Tropical Punches..

    So... I am a level 14MNK, I hear I should upgrade to Kingdom Knuckles next level, but... I don't want to. See, I like low delay, the fact the punches are like 2 sniper rings at level 10, and their name rocks... Tropical Punches... just awesome

    Do these really suck? I hit pretty solidly for about 10 damage each hand with them.

    I am level 75WAR btw , I am addicted to low delay/haste items

    time to fight crabs. you'll punch it for 1-2 with tropical punches and 0 with STR down + def up. Plus your WS will be the worst in your PT due to your low delay low damage weapon.

        if you are really 75 WAR and need convincing not to use Trop Punches, I'd say you are lying.

          Yeah, If your going for H2H weapons might want to try some others and just get yourself more +haste items. If you want H2H weapons that still give a lot of +accuracy then might want to look at Shiva Claws.

          If you are really REALLY addicticted to hitting fast an option you might be most satified with is doing this.

          H2H: Indra Katars
          Head: Roshi Jinpachi
          Food: Tonosama Rice Ball/Shogun Rice Ball

          With that you're going to have +1% Triple Attack and going MNK/WAR at 60+ in level your going to have Double Attack and eating those two riceballs increases Double Attack a lot more also. So you can fun spazzing with your fists then I guess >.>


          For Damage to Delay those Katars seem to be quite good, don't think there are any other weapons with stats like that +19 Damage and +84 Delay. The next closest to that with +19 Damage has a +96 Delay. If you just skip the +1% Triple Attack and just go for a higher damage H2H there are quite a few up there that are quite good in damage to delay ratio.

          EDIT:

          Probably shouldn't of mentioned the 75 WAR it threw me off what your question was asking, I just now got it. You're asking what the +2/+3 damage more from the Kingdom Cestis are really going to help with compaired to the Tropical Punches /+1.

          Correction:

          The Fruit Punches +1/+2 damage is for each hit. That means out of each hit you only getting an added +2/+4 damage to it all. When you go with Kingdom Cesti (out of the lv. 15 H2H seems to be best Damage/Delay) you'll be getting a total of +8 in each round of hits, that's a 400% or 200% increase right there.

          Also even though the Tropical Punches are +1/+2 Damage and +0 Delay that means those H2H items are doing next to nothing to help. Though the comment of your damage on crabs dropping to 1-2 and 0 I think is a bit overexagurated it will be less. The 10 damage each hit you do know with the Topical Punches if done with Kingdom Cesti's it'll increase to somewere around 16-18 damage each hit.

          At the lower levels changes like Tropical or Kingdom are huge. I forgot what exactly MNK starts at I think the base is something like 2 DMG and 120(?) Delay. That means the Tropical Punches are getting you a total of 3/4 DMG and 120 Delay, not getting to mathmatical and just going with those two stats that's like a 1.66 DPS. If you go with Kingdom Cesti's instead you would have 6 DMG 153 Delay that will be 3.92 DPS, that's a huge jump with just simple math.

              That's funny though. The only time I ever fought crabs was ......... oh I remember 18-20 in Buburimu Peninsula and 25-30 in Qufim and that was only with my first job BLM.

              Your choice though, almost every monster type (With the exception of those usually hunted at end-game) are everywere's and are between lvls 1-75. Anyone fighting only crabs do get really good at killing hard shell type monsters though >.>

              Anyway whatever you fight lvls 1-75 is just whatever you and the party your with can fight well.

                I prefer worms in shakrami and then korroloka. Shakrami is kinda out of question since no PTs ever formed around tarongi these days. But every night I can still get japanese PTs going to korroloka. But for korroloka i need to be at least 15-16, which, again force me to level off crabs in my 14 PTs

                  I soloed bones in Gusgen mines from 12-16 with cure support, good stuff XD, only decent challenge now though, used Tropical Punches throughout, but I guess I'll give Kingdom Cesti a chance

                    Haha you can actually go to Korroloka tunel with a PT of 4 and get chains

                    You can also PT in Saurogon (sp) Campain and fight bettles at lvl 20.

                        Does anybody know how to pronounce that? The beetles there are easy to pull and are great from 19-23. I love the way everybody calls them bettles.

                          crabs in valkurm 14-16ish, qufim is actually lvl 20-25, not crabs the whole time though. crabs in kuftal tunnel 52-55 crabs in boyahda tree 56-58 (if i remember right), crabs in cape terrgian 58-62, more crabs in boyahda tree 65-68ish

                          i'm just trying to remember off hand, but yea....
