  • The lvl 40 ladder

Hello everyone, What i'm here to ask or trying to find out is the order in which i should get the lvl 40 "ouch" items. These are in no prior order just for the sake of listing them. Now i plan on getting them all but with time.

    -Ochiudo's Kote(Even though it's 34, It's almost always calculated in the 40 "ouch") (1,300,000g)
    -Brown Belt (950,000-1,000,000)
-Sniper Rings (I have them) (450,000g each)
    -Jujitsu Gi(500,000g)
-Fuma Kyahan(?, not so sure about this one)(600,000)

...An anything else i might have forgotten, Now as i listed I have the snipers and i have about enough for Ochiudo's Kotes and the Jujitsu Gi... Or i can sell the snipers (1 or 2) and buy the Brown Belt. Again i would just like to know in what order should i prioritize(if this is even a word >.>) them....

All feedback will be greatly appreciated, Thanks

The most important purchase right at the 40 level is the Jujitsu Gi by far. It should be the first piece you pick up out of all this gear. Its a solid boost to your accuracy that you will be using until level 58.

Next on the priority list is the Brown Belt. This will potentially last you forever (since the Black Belt is tough to get, even for extremely dedicated HNM LSs), so its a solid purchase you won't feel bad about making. You will be using it on any mob that you have no trouble hitting and Life Belt on the ones that you do. You will get a lot of mileage out of this thing.

Snipers and Fumas will be at your own discretion. Having at least one Sniper Ring (or one of the new variants of it) is a good idea for when you need that extra bit of accuracy. If you are really paranoid about it I suppose you could get two, although I don't think thats needed. Remember that eventually you won't really need these at all (70+), so think about that as well.

The Fumas are a solid foot equip (and one of the few that actually increase your damage output), so pick those up if you can. The Gi and the Belt come first though.

Don't feel the need to 'absolutely have' the Kote. Its a nice bonus, but you won't be using them forever (you will ditch them at 54 for your AF Hands). If you have the funds I suppose you can buy them and sell them back later, but if you don't then don't sweat it.

If you have friends or a linkshell you could ask them to help you with the quest to get the Brown Belt so that you don't have to pay for it. This is assuming you quested your Purple Belt (chances are you didn't given its low price).

Might I suggest a Life Belt and STR rings? This is really a great option from the Brownbelt and Snipers. If you're not rich, don't stress yourself over it when a LIfe Belt and STR rings are hardly a downgrade at all. I'm a level 62 Mnk who has never equipped a Sniper or a Brownbelt and I've never partied with a Mnk that has clearly out-damaged me.

        I'd say:

        1. Gi
        2. Kotes

And the rest are luxury items because there are some very good, much cheaper, options.

PS - I use Sole Sushi though.

I agree with Red Limit. And also, the Life Belt + STR rings combo is great too. Personally, I use two sniper's rings and brown belt (like the +8% haste) and only use my life belt on high evasion mobs (toramas and perytons mostly, but I'm past that stage now).

As for Fuma Kyahan, I wouldn't recommend paying more than 100k on them. Personally, I don't think they're worth more than that (and I think 100k is pushing it). I recommend questing the brown belt if you can (I did) and possibly camping the Gi and Kote if you have the time/help to help you save gil (your wallet will give you a hug).

I am not a mnk but I think it would be more cost effecient to do the brown belt quest and camp for the Fuma's.

As long as you get help with the Brown Belt quest you will be fine. Its only soloable at 55+ MNK, so you will need help at 40.
Deadly Dodo has a lot of HP, Nue hits pretty hard, and Molborger is just a pain in the ass to deal with. At 55 you will need Hundred Fists for each one, and will use all of your abilities to survive. Its pretty much safe at 60+ though.

The Purple Belt quest is very easy, both NM can be easily killed at level 30 MNK. Take a RNG subjob (even if its only level 1) to scan for the rams. They are guaranteed to drop their horns every time, so you won't need a THF sub or anything.

Federation Tekko are good, and so are Battle Gloves. The Gloves are +3 Accuracy and +3 Evasion, which isn't bad considering how early they can be equipped (level 14). They should also be amazingly cheap.

Either one will last you up until 54 and Temple Gloves.
