A couple of MNK Q.'s!

Hey!

This character is deleted and I'm thinking of comming back as a Elvaan MNK. I love the MNK class. When I Lv'ed it as my sub, even when I was in shitty PTs, I still loved to play it. This class is the epitome of fun for me and there's a couple of things I want to know so I don't screw-up.

If /THF useful before Lv. 60 or is it better to be a WAR? Also, since the MNK's job to do damage. Is my choice as a Elvaan better than the Galka (which is considered to be the best)?

Also, how vital are Sniper's Rings. They're 1 million on my server, or so I hear. I had Sniper's Rings when I was a WAR and used them 'till 55. And I can honestly say, I found that my +5 STR rings (which is close to a million) did much better than the Sniper's overall. Plus, with Focus you have a lot of accuracy. (I think MNK is a accurate class to begin with.)

Also, from the period of 50-60, how painful was it for you? I know all you do is vrs. crappy crabs but with the new exp. pack can you Lv. in different places? Because Crabs > MNKs... :\

Any extra advice would be super-duper terrifico...goodness.

/WAR > /THF, I think...better damage output, etc... but /THF after 60 would be nice, because of SATA.(read effen's guide, or previous posts, this has been talked about a lot)

Galka isn't the best MNK, I always think it's:

Elvaan > Mithra = Galka > Hume > taru

but anyway, skill > all...

No comment on sniper ring, since I am a cat.

I didn't notice as much problem as I did, when I did crabs at 50+, and when I did crabs below 50... I am having trouble controlling my hate though, since I just keep outhating every tank...(tanks hate me, I think >_>)...
And no, most people still prefer crabs over all else.. you might be lucky and find yourself a PT willing to do new monsters, or just non-crab... but I am not that lucky

although i havent lvled up much,, still lvl 61.. but thats for a reason cuz i like to have THE best gear available...

as u were asking wether Galka is better than elvan. they are some what the same.. ya a galka has about 100 more HP than me in my lvl.. but elvaan's have an Extremely big pointer..

first of all after lvl 70, when u and you're LS start fighting HNM'sand Gods..U ARE NOT ALOUD TO HIT THE MOB( for monks)
u will barly even touch them. my point is Elvaan monk subbedwith Whm has THE HIGHEST MND.. and thats for Chi Blast (thats how Monks hit those damn mobs) ifyou equip as much MND gear as u could dig up..then Boost 12 times and use Chi blast u can hit from a range of 1200dmg-1800 (or do i was told)

also as a reply to Sniper rings... If you're a Monk.. and elvaan and you dont have Snipers...dont even bother lvl him up (imo) Multi hit Ws such as raging fists, which you will use from lvl 40 till 65, depends greatly on how much accuracy u have.. i never use raging Fists without equiping Life belt specktackles 2 snipers and Scorpion harness and use Focus... with that i can hit up to 600 - sometimes 700 on an IT and 800+ on easy prey

thats how seriouse Accuracy is for an elvaan monk

also this is how i think the the grading of the races

Elvaan = Galka till lvl 70+ then its Elvaan > Galka

Elvaan = Galka > Hume > Mithra > TaruTaru

Also as for Subs.. its best to Sub /WAR till lvl 60 then you need to sub /THF for SATA Howling Fist and Dragon kick.. also its best to have a 37 WHM (for Chi blast @ high lvls) ready and a 37 Ninja

Sniper's Rings are approaching two-million on my server...!

What I did w/my WAR: I used a Life Belt, (I had Aggressor active) and some other misc. Acc.+ items and Rampage worked fine for me.

I was thinking if I had a Elvaan MNK (which I hear on the DEX/Acc. level that they're only two to three Acc. behind other races) use a Life Belt, Focus, and some other misc. Acc.+ items my Raging/Asuran Fists would be fine just like my Rampage was (I though MNKs had better Acc. than WARs anyway).

I already have a Ochuido's Kote (before I even reactivated my account officially. Because, I gave mine to my friend when he quit, and now I'm back and he gave it to me as a gift... )

I read the MNK FAQs, they're nice. Chock-full-'o-info.

As of yesterday morning sniper rings were about 710k, later on in the day there was a string of sniper rings being sold for 390-450k all of a sudden.

It seems the prices are dropping greatly (Back to original price).
I've heard that this happened on a lot of different servers too. So check yours out. Sniper rings are getting cheaper (well they still aren't cheap) just as soon as I thought prices got out of control.

Are Sniper's required? If so, I think I may go Galka to make up for it, or Hume.

Please keep in mind Galka have the 2nd highest MND growth in the game. So while yes a Galka will typically be out damaged by Elvaan in Chi Blast there's some questions you have to ask yourself.

1.) Am I going to take Monk to 70+?

2.) (If I am going to take Monk to 70+, Fight in HNMs) Is the extra 100-150 damage from Chi Blast that an Elvaan will do over a Galka worth the fact that you may like how Galka play monk better? (Ie Their stance, the way they punch, the way their WSs look...you know aesthetics)

Also, dmg and chi blast dmg is all assuming that both monks have the exact same gear, sadly this is RARELY ever the case.

As far as sniper rings, I considered them to be a worthwhile adventure when they cost 300k a peice when I was leveling monk. 1,000,000 a peice like they cost now? Hardly worth it. So much cheaper to just take the Life Belt + STR rings route. Get no haste, and 1 more STR. For a LOT less doe.

I heard Life Belt and Sniper's were needed for Toramas in the Onzozo. Is this true?

Well thank goodness they're not nessacary anymore.

Oh and I like how Elvaans look better than Galkas.
