Ochiudo's Kote

Ok. I hear that people use these kote's between lvl 34-75 (i think). On my server these things are 650k. Now what i want to know is how are these made or does a monster drop them? And how the hell am i going to make 650k?

well i farmed/fished/mined the 430k for mine. They are not crafted. They are dropped by the NM Mee Deggi the Punisher(lvl 35-36) in Castle Oztraja. I wouldn't attempt solo'ing till 45+ish. I personally know a few people who have gone 0/15 on this thing though, so you might look into farming or raising your fishing up^^

I camped for mine, since I am lazy at farming. With the gil farmers army now, it's really hard to camp kote anymore, I would go with Naota's suggestion instead of getting yourself mad. And, the placeholders hurt my MNK very badly at lv48

Even though i am only lvl 25 i am in the process of getting mine. ^^
My LS camps it on a pretty normal basis. Usually once a week and i can take my brothers lvl 40 sam out there and help get it ^^

Hopefully i can get mine at 34. I got my impact knuckle off of him already ><

I was lucky and got mine for410,000 G about 5 months ago. I used my drg (52 at the time, mnk was 34) to farm in beadeaux (before the gilfarmers have taken over)

The kote gives +20 to attack at level 20, and can be used till the end of the game.

lets compare this to other elite items and their prices and see who is getting the deal here.

Och kote- 400-600k on titan lvl 34 +20 attack (thats all that really matters, no one is gonna pass on this because of the negative darkness stat)

Hawker's Knife+1 lvl 30 +3 agi, +12 ranged accuracy 1.2 million gil, can be used to end game,(on, or two many switch to the fran axe when they hit lvl 70)

Serkit ring lvl 50- -50 hp +50 mp can be used to end game (so 25 levels) 2 million gil on titan

ok, so please, tell me witch job is getting the best deal, my ranger's knife cost more, my mage's ring cost more, and for better judgement i shall switch both hawklers out at level 70 for frans axes, so the hawkers wont even last till end game for my mithra.

you guys get an item you can use for 41 levels and you complain about a price below 1 million gil?

lets be real guys, no1 not anyone outside of the HMN LS is gonna demand you have this item, its a lucxory and as such you must pay the price

Ochiodo's Kote are very overrated.

And post 60 the pallas/alkynosses line is so much better. Or even your AF hands.

I've got nothing but love for KamaAina, but Ochiudo's Kote are NOT overrated. I challenge you to find a better glove at 34, and the damage increase at that level is extraordinary. The returns are diminishing, there's no question. Still, my parses showed the Kote outdamaging AF until 57-58, and I can't imagine anything will outdamage Pallas at 60. So thats my plan. I just want to warn that throwing out a blanket statement like:

is both incorrect and damaging to our class.

There are a ton of 75 MNK in optical hats and end-game gear that still wear O Kote, and I've gotta believe there's a reason for that. I don't buy the bullshit "status symbol" argument as anything but a weak rationalization for being cheap. Are the Kote the best gloves for MNK in exp pts until 75? No, they aren't. Are they the most pimp badass piece of equip that any 34 MNK can own? hell yes they are.

Actually fransisca's are rare/ex so you can only switch out one hawker, and you'll still want to hold onto it for HNM's since for a ranger: r. acc. >r. atk.

On topic: I'm sure they're fantastic but dont worry about getting them immediately, if you have the xtra cash to get them then by all means, but dont spend months farming for them when you can easily lvl a few more lvls and make the money for them a LOT faster.

Ochiudo's should serve your well till you get your AF Gloves. You should then consider selling them off and maybe starting down the + strength path. The day I replaced my kote with AF gloves, I noticed absolutely no change in damage. It's totally your choice though. If you can't afford them, get a good pair of + strength gloves. If you can, by all means buy and use them.

They do look really cool though and get bonus points for that

Since this is an Ochuido's thread, I'd dare to ask...
How many of us actually use Ochiudo Kote at 34, if MNK was your 1st character? I used racial gear's gloves til enkeldo or something, the giant bracelet at 50, then when I got my Ochiudo, I switched them in.

I would keep my Ochiudo Kote for however long needed, because for whatever 60 cap or under, that'd b my hands equip

As for AF gloves, I switch them with my Ochiudo for boost, however, Ochiudo stay my primary gloves... I don't know what you mean by it's stronger though I haven't looked into the lv60+ equips yet, saving for a Spartan is already killing my head(If I could just camp Kote, I'd have enough, but nah, SE want the gil farmers to live)
